Today we celebrated Thorin’s birthday in the classroom with his friends! Thorin wanted to have a Pumpkin celebration so we scooped out seeds, read pumpkin books, painted pumpkins, washed them in our basin, and used clay to make pumpkin shapes. We also enjoyed jack- o- lantern cookies after we recited a poem about pretty pumpkins lighting up the night.

I cannot believe my little October baby is going to be three years old tomorrow!

We are so grateful for all of our friends and this little community we are building!

My table currently 😍 preparing for tomorrow’s women’s circle with what might be one of the very last harvests from the garden. Fresh Roma tomato pie with an herb & garlic quiche is on the menu 🌿 🍅 we will drink three herbal concoctions throughout the morning while we press flowers, dry herbs, and learn about comfrey!

Tomato Pies, Garden Veggie Quiches, and Herbal Mocktails! I have a few guest speakers lined up to teach us about various plants and how to preserve their medicinal qualities 🌱 everyone will go home with an herbal tea satchel and a gift to preserve the last bit of summer’s florals 🌻

Intentional conversation ✨ take a few minutes before bedtime to truly connect and speak with your child about their day or to wonder together. It helps them process and release… allowing them to fully snuggle down and get restorative sleep.

Latest addition to our art shelf! The children are invited to make stamp wreaths and then fill in the leaves with a green pencil. This work promotes fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, creativity, and a connection to art and nature. I am thinking as the leaves change colors this fall I will offer an orange, brown, and red pencil as well 🍁

Super simple activity for the preschool child without much fuss in the preparation but deeply rewarding for the child!

I just absolutely love this 💕 Jenn Bond from Five15 Properties joined our women’s circle last night to share financial wisdom that will carry us to retirement. It was so beautiful for a group of only women to come together and talk money with no shame or judgement for not understanding something.

We drank Tulsi, known as holy basil or liquid yoga, due to it’s very effective calming properties. We ate Daal because the lentils represent abundance and coins, and also cornbread for good luck and gold.

We made Feng Shui money bowls and unfortunately I took zero pictures of our activity because it was so fun!

I also wanted to share the homestead basket I made for Jenn as a thank you for her time and energy. It made me reflect on how lovely and gentle bartering can be. Wealth and abundance comes in so many forms and is not just representative of numbers on a page.

I am taking a break in August from our women’s circle to focus on a few farm activities. But I am really excited about our co- teachers and guests for September & October!!
