From the ambulance to the emergency room, teamwork makes all the difference. We are incredibly grateful for our ER nurses. We want to acknowledge all the compassion, dedication, patience, and expertise you all bring to EVERY patient, EVERY handoff, and EVERY shift.

💙 Making a Difference in Our Community! 💙

Sumner County EMS was proud to provide a medical standby yesterday for the Sumner County Health Services and Safe Schools Department during a wonderful community event!

Sumner County school nurses teamed up to provide vision, hearing, and blood pressure screenings, along with hands-only CPR demonstrations to help promote health and safety in our community. Andy the Ambulance was also there to bring some smiles, play with the kids, and show off a few dance moves! 🚑🕺

The Family Resource Center also hosted its fall clothing giveaway, helping provide resources and support to local families.

We were honored to play a small part in an event focused on keeping our community healthy, safe, and supported. Thank you to everyone who worked together to make this event possible!

🚑 Emergency Vehicle Driver Training🚨

Today, our orientation class at Sumner County EMS took part in Emergency Vehicle Driver Training, combining classroom instruction with hands-on driving evaluations.

Our new EMTs and paramedics learned about defensive emergency vehicle operations, legal considerations, vehicle dynamics, and the responsibilities that come with operating an ambulance. They then put that knowledge to work behind the wheel on a practical course designed by VFIS.

The course included standardized driving stations such as serpentine, confined-space maneuvers, parallel parking, and offset backing, with specific time limits and scoring criteria.

These skills are an important part of providing safe, effective emergency medical services. Our crews are often responding under stressful conditions, but getting to the patient safely is always the first priority.

We’re proud to invest in training that prepares our crews to safely navigate the roadways and communities we serve. Because every emergency response starts with getting there safely. 🚑

Long Hollow Church invited us to be apart of a career day and these sweet kids were so excited to be outside!!
We enjoyed showing the inside of our ambulance and making sure they understand that there is nothing to be afraid of when we arrive on scene.

Yesterday was a great day at Gallatin High School!! Students from all age groups had the opportunity to see firsthand just a few of the skills our Paramedics and EMTs perform in the prehospital setting.

They also got to connect with professionals from a variety of careers, the Armed Forces, and colleges from across Middle Tennessee and beyond.

⚾️ Hometown Heroes Softball Tournament 🇺🇸

Sumner EMS was proud to participate in the Hometown Heroes Softball Tournament, an event that brought first responders, community members, and supporters together for a great cause.

The tournament helped raise funds for the Spencer Bristol Memorial Scholarship, honoring Spencer’s memory while helping provide opportunities for future students.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make the tournament possible from the organizers who put in the time and effort to make the event happen, to the sponsors, supporters, players, volunteers, and everyone who came out to cheer us on. Your support makes events like this possible and shows what can happen when a community comes together for a meaningful cause.

At Sumner EMS, we’re honored to not only serve our community when the call comes in, but also to stand alongside our neighbors and support causes that make a difference.

Rutherford County EMS challenged us to the ALS Cold Water Challenge. So naturally we decided to change it up a little bit.

We hope that in doing this challenge that it will bring some awareness to this progressive nervous system disease, and the families it impacts.

Never Forget.

On September 11, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives that were taken, the families who were changed forever, and the countless heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

For those of us who serve our communities today, September 11 carries a special meaning. We remember the firefighters, paramedics, police officers, military members, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage and selflessness.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the bond we share as first responders — to serve, to protect, and to be there for others when they need us most.
