We are seeking motivated individuals for the positions of Grant Manager, Outreach Liaison, Clinical Site Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant.

We will be seeking an Allied Health Instructor to be added to our team in the near future.

This week, for the “Welcome Back-Building Meet and Greet”, Penka Building welcomed students with our “We Are So Egg-cited to Meet You!” event.
Students learned about what is offered within the Penka building departments (allied health, cosmetology, and nursing). Then they received a golden egg filled with prizes, or helpful study tips.

Students placed a pin on our world map and were asked to leave a “fun factoid” about where they were from.

We had a great turnout and it was so much fun to get to know everyone!

The GCCC Allied Health Department is excited to share the news about this collaborative effort to strengthen healthcare in Western Kansas. We are honored and grateful to be a part of this huge opportunity! 🤎 💛

BIG NEWS 🩺 Garden City Community College has been awarded a $3.4 million grant through the Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program to help expand healthcare workforce and training opportunities across western Kansas.

As the lead institution for the "Frontline Futures" partnership, GCCC will collaborate with Newman University, Colby Community College, and Seward County Community College to create new healthcare training opportunities:

🟡Diagnostic Medical Sonography program launches in Garden City through Newman University (Fall 2026)

🟤Accelerated Radiologic Technology program coming to Garden City through Newman University (Fall 2027)

🟡Community Health Worker & Registered Medical Assistant programs from GCCC expanding to Seward County Community College & Colby Community College

Instructor Toni Martin RN taught this spring CNA cohort in Scott City. Students were a combination of SCHS, public SC, and Dighton High School students. In addition to learning clinical skills, the students were able to assist residents with their fun 🤩 activities during National Nursing Home Week. Some of these activities included playing Bingo, and assisting with “fishing day”. Some of the students were even kind enough to bait some 🪝 hooks. 🐠 🐟 🎣
