Golfers In Motion Helping golfers move better, play without pain, and enjoy a lifetime of golf

10/19/2026

“I’m not trying to hit it 300 yards.”

I’ve heard versions of this from plenty of golfers.

They aren’t necessarily looking for extraordinary distance.

They just remember when a certain hole played differently.

When their 7-iron went a little farther.

When they could comfortably reach a par 4 they now struggle with.

Or when the guys they used to outdrive weren’t catching up to them.

That’s why losing distance can be so frustrating.

It’s not always about the number.

Sometimes it’s about feeling like you’re slowly losing a part of your game.

And that’s worth paying attention to.

I’m 50.

And I’m still chasing better golf.

More speed.
Lower scores.
Better tournament performances.

I’m not ready to stop trying to improve.

But the older I get, the more I also appreciate being able to keep doing the things I love.

The golf trips.
The tournaments.
The rounds with friends.
The opportunity to wake up and go play again.

That’s what longevity means to me.

Not simply playing golf when I’m older.

Still being able to chase the golf I want to play.

Getting older doesn’t mean every workout needs to become stretching and light resistance bands.

Strength still matters.
Power still matters.
Speed still matters.

What changes is how we approach training based on your abilities, history, goals and recovery.

You don’t need to train like someone half your age.

But you can absolutely continue challenging yourself.

Your training should reflect what you’re capable of and not just the number on your birthday cake.

He originally came to see me because of a knee injury.

But like a lot of golfers I work with, his goals went well beyond getting out of pain.

He wanted to move better.

Gain distance.

Feel confident that his body could handle his golf.

And ultimately, break 80.

During his initial assessment, we identified significant mobility limitations he hadn’t realized were there.

Over the following weeks, we worked on his knee, his movement, and the physical qualities that could help support his golf swing.

In a review he shared after less than 10 weeks, he described major improvements in his mobility and feeling more balanced and physically capable of making good swings.

Fast forward to a recent round.

39 on the front. 41 on the back.

And his message afterward?

“Overall super happy, just wish i could have had one less swing 😆”

That’s a golfer for you.

And it’s one of the things I love about this work.

The initial goal might be getting healthy enough to play again.

But the bigger goal?

Getting back to chasing the golf you actually want to play.

He’s still chasing that 79.

And I’m excited to see where he goes next.

The guys he used to outdrive are starting to catch up to him.

And let’s just say... he’s not thrilled about it. 😂

I recently assessed a golfer who noticed a significant loss of distance.

No pain. No major injury complaint.

He just wasn’t hitting it as far as he used to.

During his assessment, we found limitations in both his hip and shoulder mobility.

His upper- and lower-body power testing also lined up with what we were seeing in his swing speed profile.

Now we have a much clearer picture of the physical qualities we can work on.

Does that automatically mean improving those numbers will give him 20 yards back? No.

But it gives us a much better starting point than guessing.

And for a competitive golfer, those yards matter.

Assess. Don’t Guess.

If you’re noticing your regular playing partners catching up to you off the tee, DM me DISTANCE.

Your body doesn’t have to hurt to affect your golf.

Sometimes the first sign is losing distance.
Sometimes it’s a shorter turn.
Sometimes you still play well for 12 holes, but the last six feel like a completely different game.

And sometimes you simply notice that recovering from golf takes longer than it used to.

None of those automatically proves you have a physical limitation.

But they’re good reasons to look a little closer.

Because there’s a difference between assuming you’re getting older and understanding what your body can actually do.

Assess. Don’t Guess.

DM me GOLF if you’re noticing some of these changes and want to find out where your physical opportunities may be.

Strength isn’t just about lifting heavier weights.

For golfers, I also think about it as building a bigger reserve.

More physical capacity available for practice.

For consecutive rounds.
For those last few holes when you’re starting to feel the day.

That doesn’t mean strength alone determines your endurance.

But it’s one of the physical qualities worth developing if you want your body to keep up with the amount of golf you enjoy.

Train for the golf you want to play.

At some point, a lot of golfers start lowering their expectations.

A little less distance.
A little more stiffness.
A little longer to recover.

And the explanation becomes, “I’m just getting older.”
Sometimes age is part of the picture.

But it doesn’t tell us which physical qualities can still improve.

I’m 50, and I’m still interested in seeing how good I can get.

Not because I expect to be 25 again.

Because I don’t think I’m finished improving.

What part of your golf game are you still chasing?

Here’s a golf fitness test that doesn’t require any equipment:

Pay attention to your back nine.
Does your normal club suddenly stop being enough?

Does your turn feel different?
Does your tempo change?
Do you start making decisions based on how your body feels?

Or are you still physically capable of playing your golf on 17 and 18?

Fatigue isn’t the explanation for every late-round mistake.

But your ability to maintain physical capacity for 18 holes matters.

Don’t just prepare for the first tee.

Prepare for the finish.

Save this one before your next round.

Most golfers guess at what’s limiting their swing.

We measure it.

Before we build your program, you go through a full golf/TPI movement screen plus a swing and speed assessment using real 3D data.

Not a guess, not a generic stretching list taped to the mirror.

We find exactly where your body is restricting your swing. Then we re-test, on the same assessment, so you can see the number actually move.

No more guessing why you lost 15 yards. No more guessing why your back barks on the back nine.

Comment or DM “SWING” and we’ll walk you through what your assessment
