You fix one… and suddenly its neighbors start acting up, too?!

Here’s why: Medical gas outlets use tiny O-rings to help create a proper seal. But over time, those little guys can dry out, get brittle, and lose their grip. 😬

So if an older facility has one leaky outlet, it might be time to check on its neighbors, too!

That’s a wrap on the 25th Annual MGPHO Educational Conference in Las Vegas!

From diving into the finer points of surgical vacuum to catching up with industry friends, exploring the exhibits, sharing great meals, and making a few memories along the way… this trip had a little bit of everything.

The best part? Getting to spend time with the people behind the medical gas industry. Because this business is about more than pipes, fittings, and systems. It’s about the relationships, the knowledge we share, and the people who make it all happen.

And let’s just say… Vegas gave us a few stories we probably can’t put in the caption. 😉😂

Jim & Kathy traded the jobsite for Las Vegas this week for the 25th Annual MGPHO Educational Conference.

If you know Jim, you know he can talk medical gas all day. But even the medical gas guys need a little Vegas time! 😉

Behind the pipes, fittings, inspections and standards are real people who care about the work, the industry, and the relationships we’ve built along the way.

Before we head into the 25th Annual MGPHO Educational Conference in Las Vegas, we’re taking it back to one of Jim’s past conference presentations.

Jim has been attending MGPHO since 2011—that’s 15 years of learning, connecting, sharing knowledge, and being part of a community dedicated to medical gas safety and education.

The MGPHO Educational Conference is more than a couple days of presentations. It’s an opportunity for professionals across the industry to come together, talk about what’s changing, share what they’ve learned, and keep raising the standard for medical gas systems.

It may be an industry most people never think about, but it plays a critical role behind the scenes of healthcare.

Here’s to 25 years of MGPHO—and 15 years of Jim being part of it. 👏

You don’t always need a torch to make a medical gas connection 🤔

These photos show a Lokring installation on copper medical gas piping.

Unlike traditional brazing, Lokring fittings use a mechanical connection to create a permanent metal-to-metal seal.

Why does that matter? 🤔

Because in a healthcare environment, every minute of a medical gas shutdown matters.

Lokring can help crews complete certain connections and tie-ins faster while avoiding the hot-work process required for brazing.

Medical gas may be hidden above the ceiling, but the way it’s installed matters.

Sometimes giving back looks a little different. 🐾

MedGas is proud to support Northwest Spay & Neuter Center (NWSNC), an organization helping make veterinary care more accessible and keeping pets healthy in our community. ❤️

When their medical gas equipment was damaged and their oxygen supply was compromised, our team stepped in.

We helped restore their oxygen supply, provided a replacement manifold and equipment at cost, and donated our labor to help get them back up and running.

For our owner, Jim, this support is personal. As a fellow animal lover, he knows how much the people who care for our pets matter. When he learned more about NWSNC’s mission, he knew MedGas could do its part to help.

We work with hospitals every day. And through this partnership, we’re proud to support the people who care for our four-legged family members, too. 🐶🐱
