A little life update from behind the scenes at Vitalistic. ❤️
I feel like I've been saying this a lot lately, but life has really been throwing some curveballs our way. 🥹
After spending several weeks in Ohio caring for my grandmother following her stroke, I was finally getting back home, settling into a routine, and looking forward to pouring my time and energy back into the spa.
And then life had other plans.
Last week, our daughter collapsed while running at her cross-country meet. She became unresponsive for 15 minutes an hour later she followed with a 15 minute seizure. We were then life flighted to Nebraska Children's hospital. What followed was an incredibly scary and overwhelming couple of days of prolonged seizure activity, medical evaluations, uncertainty, and a whole lot of questions.
She has since been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition that affects how the brain and nervous system communicate. It's something we're still learning about, and while the last several days have been a lot to process, I'm so thankful to say she's improving. ❤️
Between being away caring for my grandmother and now navigating everything with our daughter, I feel like I've barely had a chance to catch my breath.
If you've noticed I've been a little quieter, slower to respond, or not as present at the spa lately, this is why.
As much as I absolutely love what I do and everything I've worked so hard to build at Vitalistic, these last couple of months have been a pretty big reminder that sometimes life needs you somewhere else. ✨️
And right now, my family has needed me.
I won't pretend that balancing it all has been easy. Being a business owner means there's always something that needs your attention, something to finish, someone to get back to, or another idea waiting to come to life. And anyone who knows me knows that slowing down doesn't exactly come naturally. 😅
But I'm learning that sometimes you just have to give yourself a little grace and take things one day at a time.
I want to sincerely thank all of my wonderful clients for being so patient, understanding, and supportive through these last several weeks. The messages, kindness, flexibility, and genuine concern for my family have meant so much more than you probably realize. 🙏🏻
I'm incredibly grateful for the little community we've built here at Vitalistic. It's so much more than appointments and services to me. The relationships, conversations, and connections I've made with so many of you are a huge part of why I love what I do. 🫶
There are still so many things I'm excited to bring to the spa, ideas I've been working on, and things I cannot wait to share with you all. I promise I haven't forgotten about any of it!
I'm just finding my footing again, one day at a time. 🌬
Thank you for continuing to support my small business, for giving me the space to be a mom and granddaughter when my family has needed me, and for sticking around through all of life's unexpected twists and turns.
I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and seeing all of your beautiful faces again soon. 🥰
We will be welcoming Jazmyn back from her honeymoon. And Kelsey and Brandi are also available to get you taken care of as well.
You can always check out our online booking! 🕊
Much love and gratitude,
Ashley ❤️✨
