🥧🍂 A Slice of Fall at Meadows on McCarty! 🍂🥧

There’s just something about fall that makes a sweet treat taste even better! 🍁 Our Volunteer Coordinator, Angela, recently visited Meadows on McCarty in Saginaw for a cozy pie tasting with the residents. 🥧💙

With plenty of delicious pie to sample, good conversation, and even better company, it was the perfect way to enjoy a little taste of the season together.

At Absolute Home Health and Hospice, we love creating opportunities to connect with the residents and communities we serve. Whether it’s a seasonal treat, a fun activity, or simply spending time together, these small moments of connection can make an ordinary day feel a little more special.

🍎🍩 C***r & Donuts at Americana in Davison! 🍩🍎

Nothing says fall quite like a warm cup of c***r and a delicious donut! Our Volunteer Coordinator, Angela, recently stopped by Americana Seniors of Davison to share a little seasonal sweetness with the residents. 🍂💙

From enjoying a tasty treat to catching up and spending time together, it was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, connect, and enjoy some of the simple things that make the season special.

💙 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: Staying Connected 📞💬

When you’re spending more time at home because of an illness, recovery, mobility changes, or a chronic health condition, it can be easy to become a little more isolated than you realize.

But staying connected with the people around you is an important part of overall well-being. 💙

Connection doesn’t have to mean making big plans or leaving the house. Sometimes it can be as simple as:

📞 Calling a friend or family member
💬 Sending a quick text to someone you haven’t talked to in a while
☕ Having coffee with a neighbor
🎲 Playing a game with a family member
🐶 Spending time with a pet
📱 Video chatting with someone who lives farther away
🚶 Taking a short walk with someone when you’re able

And if getting out or staying in touch has become more difficult, it’s okay to ask for help. A family member, friend, caregiver, or community resource may be able to help you stay connected.

Sometimes, one conversation can make a day feel a little less lonely. 🫶

🥤✨ Cheers! To sweet moments! ✨🥤

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Angela, recently brought a little extra sweetness to Willowbrook Hills with a fun Shirley Temple Float tasting! 🍒🥤

Residents had the chance to enjoy this classic, fizzy favorite topped with ice cream and a cherry — because sometimes the best moments are the simple ones: a sweet treat, good conversation, and plenty of smiles. 💙

We love finding creative ways to spend time with the wonderful residents and communities we have the privilege of working with. Activities like these are a great reminder that connection and companionship can be found in the everyday moments we share together.

A big thank-you to the team at Willowbrook Hills for welcoming Angela and helping make it such a fun afternoon! We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to bring a little more joy to the community. 🍒😊

💙 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: Keeping Your Mind Active 🧠✨

Taking care of your health isn’t only about physical wellness. Your brain needs activity, too.

As we get older, recover from an illness or surgery, or spend more time at home, it can be easy for our days to become repetitive. Finding small ways to keep your mind engaged can help bring variety, connection, and enjoyment into your routine. 💙

Try something simple:

🧩 Do a crossword, word search, puzzle, or Sudoku
📖 Read a book, magazine, or newspaper
🎶 Listen to music you enjoy or learn a new song
🃏 Play cards or a favorite board game
📝 Write down memories, stories, or things you're grateful for
🌱 Learn something new, even if it's just a new recipe or hobby
📞 Call a friend or family member and have a conversation

And remember — it doesn't have to be difficult or productive to count. Sometimes simply having something interesting to think about or look forward to can make your day feel a little brighter. 🌿

🎂🎈 Birthday Celebration at Serene Gardens! 🎈🎂

We’re always grateful for opportunities to bring a little extra joy to the communities we serve. Our wonderful volunteer coordinator, Angela, visited Serene Gardens of Grand Blanc to help celebrate the residents who were marking their birthdays! 🥳

Angela brought along cake, birthday decorations, and plenty of smiles to help make the celebration a little more special. There’s something so meaningful about taking the time to recognize someone’s birthday and remind them just how much they are valued and appreciated. 💙
