Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an opportunity to recognise people living through diagnosis, treatment, recovery and survivorship, as well as the families and caregivers beside them. 💗

The impact can reach into work, relationships, movement, confidence, fatigue and the daily activities that once felt automatic. Support should make room for the whole person, not only the diagnosis.

Instead of “let me know if you need anything,” offer something specific, like a lift to an appointment, help with an everyday task, or company on a difficult day.

If treatment or recovery is making everyday activities harder, Home Therapy Solutions can help you explore practical support at home. 💕

Strength training can support your strength, mobility and bone health as you get older. And you don’t need to start with heavy weights or a complicated gym routine. 🌟

Try starting small:
✨ Choose two days a week for strength exercises.
✨ Begin with movements like sit-to-stands, wall push-ups or resistance-band exercises.
✨ Focus on steady, controlled movement and good form.
✨Build up gradually as you get more comfortable.

The right starting point looks different for everyone.

If you’re curious about lifting or want help finding movements that suit your body, goals and health needs, contact Home Therapy Solutions.

We can help you explore a plan that feels safe and manageable.

Bathroom safety advice often stops at “add a grab bar.” The real questions are where support is needed, what movement is difficult and whether the person can use the setup consistently.

An in-home therapist can watch the exact transfer, route and routine, then recommend changes that fit the individual instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all checklist.

In-home therapy lets us practice the tasks a person actually wants and needs to do. Making coffee, getting dressed or carrying laundry may look ordinary, but each task brings together movement, thinking, balance and confidence.

That is the beauty of functional therapy: progress connects directly to daily life.

People living with dementia and their caregivers deserve access to clear information, local resources and providers who understand the realities of daily life.

Home Therapy Solutions will be joining the Memory Café Annual Service Fair on the 13th of October. We will be available during the fair, and a representative from HTS will also participate in the provider panel to explain how our organisation supports people living with dementia and the people who care for them.

The Service Fair runs from 12:00-4:00 PM. It will pause from 1:30–2:30 PM for the panel program and reopen afterward.

Save the date and share this with someone who may benefit from attending.

Families often wait for a fall or hospital visit before asking whether home is still working well. Earlier clues are usually less dramatic: a chair used differently, a room avoided, a task delayed or an outing abruptly dropped.

Those changes deserve curiosity, not criticism, and our goal is to understand what has become difficult and find practical ways to support safety and independence.

If you or someone you know is worried about an older family member's safety at home, contact us for an in-home assessment.

A home can feel completely familiar and still contain small obstacles that make everyday movement harder. Seeing the space in person lets a therapist connect advice to the way someone actually gets up, walks, reaches, bathes and moves through the day.

And yes, once you start noticing loose rugs, low seats and awkward pathways, you notice them everywhere! 😅

Most people meet a physical therapist after pain, surgery or a fall. But physical therapy is not only for after something goes wrong.

This National Physical Therapy Month, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) “PT For Future Me” campaign invites us to think about what today’s movement can make possible tomorrow. It highlight a very important message: physical therapy is not only about recovering from something. It can also support long-term strength, mobility, independence and quality of life. 🌟

At Home Therapy Solutions, that might mean practicing the exact stairs, bathroom setup or daily routine that is becoming more difficult in your real environment, so you can keep doing what matters to you.

So, picture your life five or ten years from now. What is one thing you hope future you can still do with confidence?

Travel? Play with your grandchildren? Tend to your garden? Live safely in your own home?

Tell us in the comments! Your answer might be the reason someone else starts thinking about their future mobility today. 💜

Pelvic floor concerns are not exclusive to women, pregnancy or postpartum recovery.

Men can experience pelvic health symptoms too, and pelvic floor rehabilitation may also be relevant in some post-surgical situations, including prostate recovery.

The bigger barrier is often awareness. Many men simply do not know this type of therapy exists or that their symptoms are worth bringing up.

So we will keep saying it plainly: men have pelvic floors, pelvic symptoms deserve attention, and these conversations do not need to be embarrassing.

Share this with someone who may not know this care exists.

Pelvic floor therapy has a perception problem: too many people still think it is only for postpartum recovery.

Postpartum support is absolutely part of pelvic health, but pelvic floor concerns can affect women at different life stages, men and children too.

That matters because people often live with symptoms simply because they do not realize there may be a therapy option worth discussing.

At HTS, pelvic floor therapy is part of a broader commitment to individualized care across different ages and needs.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out to us today so that we can chat about how we can best assist.
