We are currently experiencing a critical shortage of O Positive and A Positive Red Blood Cells.

Compounding this challenge is a nationwide blood shortage affecting communities across the United States. Blood suppliers that would normally provide supplemental blood products are unable to assist at this time due to shortages within their own regions.

Out of caution for the impacts of the winter storm today, Altru will close all clinics including all those in the region and Truyu with the following exceptions:
• Procedural and surgical areas
• Altru Cancer Center
• Outpatient Dialysis in Grand Forks and Devils Lake
• Radiology at Altru Hospital
• Endoscopy
• Altru Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy

Patients also have the following options available:
• Altru’s Emergency Department at Altru Hospital
o Open 24/7
• The Express Clinic at Altru Professional Center:
o Open until 7 p.m.
• The Express Clinic in East Grand Forks
o Open until 5 p.m.

All impacted patients will be contacted to reschedule appointments or make other arrangements. If you receive a call from Altru, please answer. If you are unsure if your appointment is affected by the following closures, please call ahead. Normal operations should resume tomorrow.
