49. Blessed. Grateful. Covered. And still becoming. ❤️🙏🏽

Happy Birthday to me! 🎉

As I step into the last year of my 40s, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Not because every moment has been easy or every season has gone as planned, but because through it ALL, God has been faithful.

This has been an eventful year. A year of change, growth, unexpected challenges, beautiful blessings, and moments that reminded me just how precious life truly is. And through every high and every low, God’s grace has sustained me, His mercy has carried me, and His hand has remained firmly over me and my household.

I don’t take any of it for granted.

I’m grateful for the incredible privilege of being Ella’s mom — watching her grow into the beautiful, kind, brilliant young woman God created her to be. I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for my dad, to love on him, and to cherish this season of our lives together. And I’m grateful that God continues to position me to lead with purpose, to advocate for women, and to help drive meaningful change in women’s health. What a blessing to have work that is bigger than me!

Most of all, I’m grateful for the things God has done that I prayed for, the things He protected me from that I never saw coming, and even the doors He closed because He knew what was on the other side.

His grace. His mercy. His favor. His protection.
His perfect timing. All of it.

As I look toward the future, I do so with tremendous expectation. Not because I know what tomorrow holds, but because I know WHO holds tomorrow. And if these 49 years have taught me anything, it’s that God’s plans are always greater than my own.

So here’s to 49! 🥂 The final chapter of my 40s. A year to love more deeply, live more intentionally, lead more boldly, laugh more often, and continue walking in the purpose God has placed on my life.

The best is still ahead, and I can’t wait to see what God does next.

Happy Birthday to me!
Thank You, Father, for another year of life. ❤️✨

Midlife comes with a lot of changes. Losing our desire for intimacy, pleasure, and connection shouldn’t be one of the expectations. 🫶🏽

And yet, for far too long, the conversation around women, aging, and s*xuality has been defined by what we supposedly lose rather than everything we still have to discover.

That’s why I loved being part of The Midlife Collective’s Dressing Room Confessional in Boston. What a night of laughter, vulnerability, and refreshingly honest conversation about s*x, intimacy, and pleasure at midlife!

I loved sharing the stage with an extraordinary group of women, including the incredibly talented actress Laura Benanti, whose one-woman show wraps this weekend (go get those tickets!), and actress Constance Zimmer, who is not only absolutely hilarious but also such a beautiful, brilliant soul. Add in the creative genius of director and the passion and vision of Julie Flakstad , co-founder of The Midlife Collective and a tireless advocate for women, and you have the perfect mix of humor, heart, and meaningful conversation.

And at the center of it all was a message worth repeating: Midlife is not the end of desire, intimacy, or pleasure. It can be the beginning of a deeper understanding of ourselves, our bodies, and what we deserve.

Yet too many women enter this chapter without the information, language, or support they need to advocate for their s*xual health and well-being.

As President of Vella, I’m passionate about changing that narrative, advancing science, breaking down stigma, and ensuring women feel empowered to prioritize their pleasure at every stage of life.

A huge thank you to Julie and The Midlife Collective for creating a space where women can have these conversations openly, unapologetically, and with plenty of laughter.

Because getting older shouldn’t mean wanting less. It should mean feeling empowered to ask for more. ❤️

For far too long, women have been expected to navigate changes in their bodies without the information, resources, or even the space to have honest conversations about what they’re experiencing. That has to change.

I had the pleasure of joining the brilliant Dr. Nan Wise at Menopalozza for an important conversation about intimacy, pleasure, and menopause. But what made the experience especially meaningful was hearing directly from women—their stories, their questions, their frustrations, and their desire to better understand their bodies.

I believe deeply that knowledge creates agency. And agency is fundamental to how women experience their health, their bodies, and their lives.

Menopause should never mean compromising pleasure, intimacy, or quality of life. Women deserve science-backed solutions, access to credible information, and the confidence to advocate for themselves at every stage of life.

This is precisely why the work we’re doing at Vella Bioscience matters. We’re not simply developing products. We’re challenging outdated narratives, advancing conversations that have been neglected for generations, and helping women reclaim ownership of their intimate well-being.

I’m grateful to every woman who joined us, shared her experience, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to explore Vella.

Progress begins when we stop treating women’s health as a conversation to be whispered and start making it a priority.

And we have so much more work to do.

I love working from home. There, I said it.

After more than 25 years of building a career, leading teams, and balancing motherhood, partnership, and executive leadership, I can confidently say that working from home has made my life better.

I feel like a better mom. A better partner. And a better version of myself—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I'm more present for my daughter, have more energy to invest in my relationship, and can prioritize my physical and mental well-being. And none of that has diminished my ambition or productivity. Quite the opposite.

That said, I recognize that working remotely isn't necessarily the best model for everyone.

There is tremendous value in being physically present, particularly for those earlier in their careers or working in creative environments where spontaneous collaboration can lead to great ideas.

There's also an education that comes from proximity to experienced leaders. Watching how executives navigate conflict, run meetings, negotiate, build consensus, and make difficult decisions teaches lessons that aren't always possible to replicate on Zoom.

I benefited from those experiences, and I believe the next generation deserves them, too.

But I think we've gotten the conversation wrong.

We spend too much time debating where people should work and not enough time considering how to create environments where they can thrive.

Not every role, employee, or career stage requires the same approach.

Flexibility isn't the absence of accountability. And visibility isn't the same as value.

I love working from home because it allows me to show up more fully—as a mother, a partner, a woman, and an executive.

And I don't believe we should have to sacrifice one to succeed at the others. Because at the end of the day, success shouldn't just be measured by what we accomplish at work, but by how fully we're able to show up for the people and moments that matter most.

The Missing Years deserve more than a conversation.

This week I was in DC speaking at the Women’s Health Horizons event. I wanted to challenge everyone there (and beyond) to rethink how we approach midlife women’s health, and why closing the gap is essential to building a future where women have greater agency at every stage of life.

Thank you to Women’s Health Horizons for creating space for this important conversation. ❤️ Proud of for taking part in this!

Perimenopause doesn't begin overnight, and for many women, it starts long before they realize what's happening.

The more we understand about this transition, the more empowered we are to advocate for our health, ask better questions, and support one another. Women deserve better information, more open conversations, and solutions that meet them where they are.

I hope this helps you feel a little more informed—and reminds you that you're not alone. 💜 Save this for later, and share it with a woman who might need to see it. For more information head to VellaBio.com 💜

Women are SMART. And the more we know about our bodies, our health, and our options, the more empowered we are to live a truly fulfilled life. ✨

That’s a huge part of why I wanted to get back into female health…for us, and for our daughters and sons. We deserve to understand what’s happening in our bodies, especially during perimenopause and menopause. We are not “crazy.” There are real changes happening, and we deserve real information, real conversations, and real solutions.

At Vella, we want to be part of that solution.

And what better way to bring incredible women together than over my favorite game: Mahjong!

I’m so grateful for the amazing women who joined us for Mahjong, Martinis & Menopause!

And just like that… 7th grade. 🥹📚✨

First day of school for my girl, and I’m feeling all the things. Watching Ella grow into this smart, kind, confident, faith-filled young woman is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

My prayer for this year is that she continues to reach for great heights while staying grounded in who God created her to be. May she be challenged academically, strengthened in her faith, surrounded by good friends, and brave enough to try, fail, learn, and try again.

And yes… there will be plenty of volleyball along the way. 🏐❤️

Here’s to 7th grade, Ella! Go be great. Mommy is always cheering the loudest. ❤️

There’s something powerful about women coming together to have honest, informed conversations about what it means to thrive in midlife.

I was grateful to speak at this beautiful women’s retreat and to be part of a conversation centered on women’s health, intimacy, and the power of understanding our bodies as they evolve.

A special thank you to Dr. Andrea Wolfe, MD, FACOG for sharing so much invaluable information and expertise, and to Jennifer Litchfield Bollman for creating and hosting such an intentional space for women to learn, connect, and ask the questions we don’t talk about nearly enough.

My hope is that every woman left feeling more informed, more empowered, and with a greater sense of agency over her midlife and intimate wellness—because this chapter of our lives deserves just as much attention, investment, curiosity, and joy as every chapter that came before it.

Here’s to changing the conversation—and giving women the knowledge and tools to advocate for the lives, health, and intimacy they deserve. 🤍
