Tuesday, we got to tour the Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County! They held a reception, and we got to learn about the center and meet some of the people who make it all happen.

What stuck with us was the energy in that building. Everyone we met was upbeat and genuinely positive, and that's not easy when your days are spent supporting kids who have been through abuse. It was clear they really care about kids. Thank you for everything you do for children and families in our community!

The CAC helps kids and families affected by abuse find help and healing, all under one roof:

- Forensic interviews, so a child only has to share their story once

- Medical evaluations by trained child-abuse specialists

- Family advocacy and support through every step

- Counseling and therapy referrals

- Prevention education and community trainings

If you would like to learn more about the center or be part of supporting their work, you can learn more here: https://cacjc.org

Congratulations to two of our Community Engagement staff members on their successful presentation session at the Oregon Rural Health Conference this week! 🄳
They shared how AllCare Health's community advisory councils help ensure community members, especially those most affected by inequities, have a voice in shaping health systems.

Such a beautiful weekend for Art Along the Rogue! So many amazing people lent their talents to fill it with fun, music, and COLOR!

A subtle but undeniable current of encouragement, collaboration, appreciation, and freedom to express joy was flowing throughout the weekend, and it's thanks to the generous hearts of the artists and spectators.

Three of those AMAZING artists were BreeAnn, Sayf, and Kristi! They are also part of the AllCare Health Team, so we were able to ask them what they had to say about it and what inspired them:

🌸 BreeAnn: "This was my 6th year and favorite event our city puts on - I love the energy, creativity, music, and seeing so many wonderful faces and art!"

šŸŽØ Sayf: "It was great! The prompt was reflection, so I imagined the street as a mirror and drew a reflection of myself drawing the piece. I was pretty nervous going into it, though. It was my first time using chalk, my first time drawing in front of that many people, and the canvas was huge, 8 ft x 8 ft. BreeAnn and Kristi helped me out a lot though. They were really generous with their time and gave me a ton of tips to help me prepare. They also kept motivating me by saying how good my art was. (Although it was not as good as theirs, lol.) My family also helped me color it in, and honestly that was my favorite part. I'm definitely doing it again next year."

ā¤ļø Kristi: "This was my second year participating. It was so wonderful to see how many people came out to support our community, local artists, and vendors. It’s such an incredible honor to be part of an event that has been happening for so many years and means so much to our community.
One of my favorite parts is getting to watch, learn from, and be inspired by so many incredibly talented artists including ours truly, BreeAnn and Sayf! There’s something really special about creating alongside people who are willing to share their talent, techniques, and creativity with others. I’m so grateful I got to be a small part of it."

Could not say it any better! Thank you to everyone who made it such a special event! We will have warm and colorful memories from this year, and can't wait to do it again next year!
