Join us for Yoga Studies on October 14 at 5:30pm. We are working to Free the Piriformis!
The piriformis muscles can be a real pain in the butt. Truly. These muscles connect the upper thigh bone to the lower spine at the sacrum on each side of your pelvis. They sit deep in your buttocks and work with your other hip muscles to move your thigh and provide stabilization. The piriformis muscles can become tight and compress the sciatic nerve. A tight piriformis is known as piriformis syndrome, which can lead to pain and tingling sensations in the buttock and leg, known as sciatica. This class will teach us how to release and re-educate this often troublesome muscle. —All Levels
