Coverage models often grow one piece at a time: a call schedule, locum clinicians, a transfer agreement. Each piece works, but together they can depend on conditions that are changing.

Our maternal-fetal medicine coverage sustainability scorecard walks hospital leaders through 10 questions on access, stability, and cost and oversight. It takes about five minutes, and you can record your own numbers to share with your leadership team.

Every team has that one person who “knows a shortcut” and that one person who always has coffee in hand. Dr. Jeff Chapa and Rebecca Flack of Obtelecare talk it out. Who’s your office’s navigator? Tell us in the comments.

About 1 in 175 births in the U.S. ends in stillbirth (CDC). October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and we remember the families behind that number.

Not every loss has an explanation, and no parent should have to search for one alone. If someone you love has experienced loss, you do not need the perfect words. Asking how they are, and listening, is enough.

Join the Wave of Light on October 15 by lighting a candle at 7:00 p.m. local time.

Great maternity care shouldn't depend on how far a family can drive.

When specialty care is within reach, high-risk moms can stay connected to the hospitals and care teams they trust. That's what fractional MFM partnership makes possible.

Bring care closer. 💜

Fewer than 2,500 maternal-fetal medicine specialists practice nationwide, and many rural hospitals can't support a full-time MFM on their own.

In our on-demand webinar, Memorial Health System leaders share how they closed that gap with a 24/7 inpatient teleMFM program, built with Obtelecare and Teladoc Health. You'll hear how fractional coverage fits into existing care teams, how they earned clinician buy-in, and how they're planning for long-term sustainability.

A high-risk pregnancy shouldn't mean choosing between an hours-long drive and lower-quality care.

Rebecca Flack shares how our virtual tele-MFM program is helping expecting moms get world-class care without leaving their community. That's what "bring care closer" really means to us.

Only 1.7% of rural and 2.7% of urban high-risk pregnancies get teleMFM care today. Meanwhile, 139 rural hospitals have stopped delivering babies since 2020.

Those two numbers are connected, and the reason might not be what you think.

Our new report on the state of maternal-fetal medicine telecare breaks down why access to MFM specialists is a deployment problem, not just a shortage, and what that means for hospitals trying to protect maternal outcomes.

You'll also see data on how just five additional MFM specialists per 10,000 live births are linked to a 27% drop in maternal mortality risk, plus a framework to check where your own program's coverage stands.
