Animal 8 is here! Thank you for the patience and the support. The last couple of weeks have been a mix of chaos, and stacking factors against creating. BUT now we are mostly past all of that. Let me know what you think about Fred! Mila starts out real fierce with this one and I completely disagree with her. Fred is 100% my type. Though he, like a lot of the others, still had moments of the ick factor too. That is one of the cool things about real people from the past. Like us, they are not characters with a defined moral arch. Who we would play in a story would vary depending on who was writing it. I don’t always agree with Mila or even like her actions. Same with the animals. But that is no different than how I accept and love every human around me. Because no person can be reduced down into some role in someone’s storyline. Not yours, not mine, not Mila’s. But her story did happen, and we can revel in its humanity.
Cheers fam.
A HUGE thanks to the amazing Natassja Romo for the historical background on all of these. She helps this go round.

Thank you for your patience on Animal 8 everyone! I had an appendicitis flare and have been doing whatever I can to avoid surgery. Animal #8 is also one of the few that do not have a photo attached. He has been harder to find information on but we are almost there. Hope to have it out by tonight. Extra GOOD news though is that the digitalization of the book and of Mila’s senior HS diary is complete! It was sooooo much easier to see the words when I can zoom them in and darken/play with the lighting. This should set us up to put them out more quickly. The first deep dive Podcast on Harold is only on hold because I keep finding new mentions of him in her other diaries. It has been a lot to trace the animals through these years. I want to be able to bring it all to the table when we record! Thank you thank you for your support and patience. Podcast episode one is out on Spotify (link in bio) and is a who I am (first half) then I answer the FAQ’s and talk about some of the basics of our heroine Mila. Check it out!

Timelines can’t stop me from being a mother. Alternate realities won’t stop me from comforting my lover. Dimensions cannot stop me from telling my mother that I am okay.
This playful idea thought up on ‘delics of alternative timelines has brought me greater awareness and intentional living in this one. What a trip!

We took a time out from recording to romp in the leaves. I am worried she will sleep and snore even harder now. May have screwed myself over on that one!
I had no idea she would go so crazy for the fall leaves! Do all bulldogs have this level of sass? I mean if looks could kill-

TLDR: an English bulldog rambunctiously plays in the fall leaves, running and play attacking her mom. She gives major side eye.

This was a few minutes before I was left with my son, by myself, for the first time. I was terrified. I remember this moment as my mother took our photo before she went home after staying with us the first few days. I was trying to not cry, and to look both happy and confident. Inside I was wanting to scream and cry for my mommy. I wanted her to never leave-no one should ever leave me with a baby! In a split moment I had to grow up and be something I never imagined being.
I can remember those days so well. The smell of our high traffic apartment that once was the place for parties, now it hosted a crib in the dining space. I can still smell the formula and feel its grit on my fingertips. My breasts had failed to produce milk and I saw it as another omen that I was doomed to fail at it all. I can still feel the rough tweed of our old couch I slept on with him. Its wide and deep seats gave us just the right amount of room to sleep side by side. My infant son, wrapped in my arms. Max had jaundice and we were very fortunate to be one of the first families to be able to use a home phototherapy blanket. A few months earlier and he would have been a NICU baby. I used his need to be on the light most of the time to mask my fear of moving around with him. He was so small and squishy. Even the top of his head was squishy! No one had told me your newborn won’t have protection over its dang brain during its most vulnerable months. What is the evolutionary benefit to that?!
In exactly one month that squishy infant is turning 18. We both not just survived, but thrived. He became an anchor to reality I desperately needed. He became a reason to exist and to try. As terrifying as those early days were, I don’t regret one second. Can’t say I would do it again-there were some very dark nights. But my GOD-is being a mother the most sacred honor of my life. I am so proud to be raising a man rooted in his power and honors the power of others.
“You may be my son, and I may be your mother-
but you and I, my baby boy, we grew up together.”

Pamela has been coming to work with me recently. Ever since we lost her brother in July, and now that daddy is back to work, she hangs with mom. If you ever hear some snores in the background of the recordings-meet the culprit! She has become my (not so little) shadow. Just a little look behind the scenes of The Unwellness Expert. If you come for a treatment-ask for Pam! She will come love slime you with her schmutz. For free!

I will stay soft and approach with love. However I can also protect myself by meeting people where they are in that moment in time. Paying attention to the narrative those around you build, when there is lacking information and context, will illuminate a lot about a person (and yourself).
To clarify-when I say levels of friendship, I more mean the various ways you can show up for someone. A friend healing from a codependent relationship would probably go into fight or flight around me and not know why! I’m a nice person-so they question themselves. The reality is we are so much more than the observer self. There are patterns, and wounds, and memories that contribute to how we both experience and interact with reality.
I can unconditionally love a person and be there for them. However if their patterns of projection do not match what I can and do bring to the table-we may not be safe friends for one another (at this moment in time). Things can change, people change, we learn and grow. There will be different phases of life in which you connect with people on different levels. None of this is good or bad. It just is. Human experience cannot be simplified by reducing it down to a binary. We must abandon heiarchal thinking in relationships. Life is an ebb and flow of the whole spectrum of emotion. You cannot catagorize someone as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ based off your subjective perception. There is always more to the story. So knowing that-what is the story you hear of yourself and others? Where is that story rooted? And if it were reversed, would you meet the expectations/demands you have for others? The answer doesn’t make you a good or bad person. It’s just a piece in information that gives you a little insight into your psyche. Use it and watch yourself grow in leaps!

I am not selling Saffron on any platform. Not even linking my affiliate tag. I want people to know about this supplement and hear it from someone not making money off of it. I wish I had Saffron for my adhd decades ago. Anxiety, depression, ptsd, they have all been reported to improve with it. I can only attest for the ADHD but I’m less anxious since I am getting things done!
Have you tried it? If so-did it work well for you?!

Thousands followed me to hear Mila tell her story in Wild Amimals I Have Known and Tried To Tame. An ahead of its time ethogram written in the 1920’s by the most vivacious and unusual woman. 7 animals are up now! TikTok has a playlist-or look for the text box with a name and “full text”. Each one has the same white title box.

Thousands followed and trying to get back to all of their fyp’s!
