This week is Bone and Joint Action Week (October 12–20).

Your bones and joints make everything possible, walking, bending, lifting, playing. But when something isn't right, it can quietly take over your daily life.

This week is a good reminder to pay attention to what your body's been telling you. Persistent pain, stiffness, or limited movement are worth looking into.

World Arthritis Day is October 12.

Arthritis isn't just something that comes with age. It can affect anyone, and it doesn't always look the same. Stiffness in the morning, swelling that comes and goes, pain that slowly takes away the things you used to do without thinking.

If joint pain has been part of your routine for too long, you don't have to keep adjusting around it.

Joint replacement has come a long way, and Mako SmartRobotics™ is a big part of that.

Unlike a traditional approach, Mako starts with a CT scan to build a 3D model of your joint. Your surgeon uses that model to create a plan built around your specific anatomy, then follows it in the operating room with robotic-guided precision.

It's not one-size-fits-all. It's one-size-fits-you.

Not all surgery centers are the same, and the difference matters more than most people realize.

Andrews Institute is one of the only outpatient surgery centers in Florida with AAAHC accreditation for total joint replacement. That means we've met some of the highest standards in the country for safety, quality, and patient outcomes.

It's the kind of thing you don't think about until you need it. And when you do, it matters.

Not all knee replacements are the same, and that's a good thing.

If arthritis is only affecting one part of your knee, a partial knee replacement with Mako targets just the damaged area while keeping more of your natural joint intact. If multiple areas are involved, a total knee replacement may be the better path.

Either way, Mako helps your surgeon plan and perform the procedure based on your specific anatomy.

October is National Physical Therapy Month 💪

Physical therapy plays a huge role in orthopedic recovery, whether it's after surgery, an injury, or just getting ahead of pain that's been slowing you down.

It's not just about exercises. It's about rebuilding strength, restoring movement, and getting back to the things that matter to you.

Less pain after surgery. Shorter recovery. A joint replacement tailored to your body.

That's what Mako robotic-assisted surgery is designed to support. More precise bone preparation means less tissue disruption, and better implant alignment may help things feel more natural once you're moving again.

Plus, at Andrews Institute, most patients go home the same day.

One thing we want to be clear about: your surgeon is always in control.

Mako doesn't perform your surgery. It works alongside your orthopedic surgeon, providing real-time guidance and helping them stay within the customized plan built from your own anatomy. Think of it as a precision tool in the hands of an experienced specialist.

Same skilled surgeons. Smarter technology supporting them.
