At the ISHRS 34th World Congress, I had the opportunity to present my Afro-textured hair repair case for live patient viewing. Surgeons from all over the world visited the station to learn about the case, ask questions, and exchange ideas. It was a pleasure meeting colleagues from so many different countries and discussing surgical techniques, challenges, and potential solutions.
There was a lot of positive feedback, but two comments stood out the most.
The first was from a senior surgeon who mentioned that, as a hair transplant surgeon, he can often spot a hair transplant when he sees one. However, the donor area in this case looked so immaculate that even he could not tell that follicular units had been extracted from it.
The second was from a Brazilian surgeon who, after learning about my surgical techniques, exclaimed that this was "the most refined way to perform the surgery."
In a field where there are many ways to skin a cat, I have always honored the trust my patients place in me by providing the best surgical techniques I can, regardless of the time or effort required.
Thank you, , for the opportunity. And a special thank you to my patient for being such a great sport and allowing surgeons to ask him questions and closely examine his scalp.
