Hypermobility and muscle tension that moves around or as I like to call it Circus Tension. 🎪

I found some research on this once but could never find it again. There is something to it!

For me this feels like a circus of annoyance on tour in my face.🫠

Nervous system regulation and stability strengthening definitely helps! But as hypermobile humans we know…. The surprises never end a neither does our work.😭🧡

And if someone could give my chin the memo that they are in fact, not helping that’s would be great.

Do you have a touring circus of tension and where is its favorite place to set up? Misery loves company, let’s commune about it!😂

Shoulder blade control matters for everyone! But not everyone needs to work on it.🫶🏼

If you have rounded forward shoulders.
If you feel unstable in your shoulders.
If you have hypermobile shoulders.
If you have discomfort when lifting overhead.
If you struggle with winged scapula.

This is for you.✨

Mastering the upward rotation of the scapula helps us connect to the opposite position of forward and rounded.🎉

It also sets our shoulder up for a more stable position for many exercises and overhead movements.

Connecting to this is the foundation of happier shoulders if you’re a wonky mover like me.💁🏼‍♀️

In the last episode of weird things that might be related to hypermobility we talked about air getting pushed into a glad in our cheek. Today I wanna share a weird way air leaves my body.😂😅💁🏼‍♀️

I mentioned this in the comment section of episode one and I had several of you say, yes but my eye! 👀

Now this kind of thing happens to non bendy people too. Don’t get me wrong. But my curiosity is does it happen more to the hypermobile crew?

I started thinking about how frequently these kind of strange things happen to me and how this could easily circle back to extra elasticity in the tissue.

I’ve done some digging and can’t really find any studies or facts that directly link this kind of thing to hypermobility. So, as I do, I got curious. I’d love to hear from you. Is this stuff a regular occurrence for your hypermobile self also? Let’s talk about it!
