Autumn is in full swing and what a surprise that we have found strawberries! This fruit will be available for the last time this season, strawberries are typically ready for harvest in June and September in Connecticut 🍓🍁 Garlic Week continues with sales, tastings and garlic pickle station!

🧄🌱 We’re excited to offer seed garlic at Mercado Popular so you can grow your own food. Growing your own garlic is a great way to build self-sufficiency and connect with your food from seed to harvest!

📍 Stop by Mercado Popular and grab yours at $3 a bulb while supplies last! For our CT growers, here’s what to know:
Plant mid-October to early November, ideally a few weeks before the ground freezes.
Plant individual cloves about 2 inches deep, with the pointed end facing up.
Leave about 4–6 inches between cloves.
Cover with 3–4 inches of straw or another suitable mulch to help protect the cloves through winter.
Harvest around late June through July, depending on the variety and growing conditions.
