When Should You Use PEMF Therapy for Your Horse?
***Hint: Don’t wait for an injury! ***
I get asked all the time when the best time is to use PEMF, so I wanted to go over the benefits of using it before an injury ever happens.
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy isn’t just for soreness or recovery—it’s one of the most effective tools for keeping your horse feeling and performing their best year-round.
Here’s when PEMF is most beneficial:
-Before soreness starts – Helps muscles stay loose, reduces tension, and keeps performance consistent.
-During training changes – New routines, increased workload, or conditioning programs all add stress to the body.
-Before and after events – Supports warmup, recovery, circulation, and overall relaxation.
-For older horses – Promotes comfort, mobility, and joint function.
-During stressful periods – Hauling, weather shifts, or long breaks can lead to tightness or compensation.
-As routine maintenance – Just like farrier work, massage, and chiropractic care, PEMF keeps the body balanced and happy.
And of course—
-If your horse has experienced an injury, I can absolutely help with that too. Have your veterinarian examine and ensure an accurate diagnosis. PEMF is a great complimentary therapy for reducing inflammation, supporting tissue repair, and speeding recovery.
Keeping your horse’s body comfortable and supported before issues arise can save you time, money, and worry down the road.
If you’re curious about how PEMF can support your horse, I’m always happy to chat or answer questions!
