A controversial fourth-quarter fumble call in New Orleans drew comparisons to a similar ruling in Detroit two weeks ago.
The Raiders game Incident.
The ruling on the field was a fumble, and NFL VP of Instant Replay Mark Butterworth explained after the game that the replay confirming Shough lost control of the ball before his hand began moving forward with control.
Comparison to Week 1 vs. Detroit.
Saints fans and analysts immediately drew comparisons to week one against the Detroit Lions, when a strip-sack of Jared Goff by Chase Young resulted in an apparent defensive touchdown for New Orleans.
The play was overturned and ruled an incomplete pass because officials determined Goff’s arm / hand movement initiated a forward passing motion, even though the ball traveled BACKWARD👎👎
Can the NFL explain to me, what’s the Difference ⚜️
