💉 The Haskell Drug Store Shot Squad is hitting the road! 🚗💨

We’ve been busy rolling up sleeves all across the area, and we’re not slowing down anytime soon!

We offer flu, RSV, pneumonia, shingles, Tdap (tetanus), Covid, and meningitis vaccines at our clinics. We also carry other vaccines in-store; just ask and we can bring those, too!

🎉 Investing in our team means investing in better care for our patients! ❤️

Last week, our pharmacy technician Rachel Hemmen traveled to Houston to complete PCCA’s CORE Compounding Training — an intensive four-day program focused on non-sterile prescription compounding.

Rachel spent the week both in the classroom and the compounding lab, gaining hands-on experience preparing customized medications in a variety of forms, including creams, capsules, suspensions, suppositories, troches and more.

She also received advanced training in compounding techniques, pharmaceutical calculations, formulation, quality control, documentation, laboratory workflow, and USP and standards — all important pieces of safely and consistently preparing high-quality compounded medications.

One of the things we love about compounding is the ability to prepare medications tailored to the individual needs of a patient, whether that means a different dosage form, strength or formulation. Rachel’s training strengthens our ability to continue providing that personalized level of care right here at The Haskell Drug Store!

And apparently, CORE training isn’t all creams, capsules and calculations. 😂 Rachel also got to meet one of PCCA’s more colorful residents, and judging by this picture, she handled that hands-on experience pretty well, too! 🦜

We’re proud of Rachel for taking the time to grow her skills, bring that knowledge back home to our patients, and grow our opportunities for compounding! Way to go, Rachel! 👏💊❤️

The Haskell Drug Store will be closed this Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Please make arrangements to refill and/or pick up any prescriptions either later today (9/4) or tomorrow (Saturday 9/5). We're open until 6:00 today and from 8-2 Saturday.

Our after-hours line is open for prescription emergencies. Please call 940-864-2673 to speak to the pharmacist on call.
