You’re on a different frequency and that’s why some people can’t hear you 📡
I spent so much of my life wondering why I felt so misunderstood. Why my words seemed to get lost somewhere between my heart and someone else’s ears. Why the things that felt so obvious to me seemed completely foreign to others. Why I could feel an entire ocean of emotions in a world that sometimes barely notices the rain.
For the longest time, I thought maybe I needed to change the way I communicated. Maybe I was too sensitive. Too emotional. Too curious. Too loud. Too much of this, not enough of that.
So, I learned to adjust my frequency. I softened my voice. I swallowed my thoughts. I made myself smaller in rooms where my soul wanted nothing more than to expand.
In doing that, I realized something. Not everyone is going to understand the music your soul makes, and that’s okay.
Think about an old radio for a moment. There are hundreds of stations broadcasting at any given time, each carrying its own music, stories, and messages. Just because your radio isn’t tuned to a particular station doesn’t mean that station isn’t broadcasting. It doesn’t mean the music isn’t beautiful. It simply means you’re not receiving it.
I think people are a little like that. We all experience this existence through different lenses. Different wounds. Different lessons. Different levels of awareness. Sometimes, no matter how carefully you choose your words or how much love you pour into them, someone won’t understand what you’re trying to say. Being misunderstood doesn’t mean you’re wrong and being different doesn’t mean you’re disconnected. It means you’re human. Wonderfully, beautifully, uniquely human.
You don’t have to spend your entire existence twisting the dial, desperately searching for a frequency that makes everyone comfortable. You are allowed to be exactly where you are. You are allowed to feel deeply. You are allowed to question everything, to find magic in ordinary moments and to see beauty where others see nothing at all. AND, you are allowed to stop explaining your soul to people who have already decided not to listen.
Somewhere out there are people who will hear you without needing a translation. People who won’t ask you to turn down your volume. People who recognize your melody because, in some beautiful way, it harmonizes with their own.
So keep broadcasting, little soul… even when the world feels like static. Your frequency was never meant to reach everyone, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of being heard.
