There isn’t a checklist online that can tell you whether hormone therapy is right for you.

That decision is personal.

It can include your symptoms, age and stage of life, medical history, personal risk factors, goals and preferences.

For some people, hormone therapy may be a helpful option. For others, it may not be the best fit—or there may be other things we need to evaluate first.

That’s why Jill’s first goal isn’t to “put everyone on hormones.”

It’s to understand what you’re experiencing and help you make an informed decision about your care.

World Menopause Day is October 18, and we’re using the moment to say something we believe all year long:

Menopause deserves better conversations.

For some women, the transition includes hot flashes and night sweats. For others, the changes may show up through disrupted sleep, vaginal or urinary symptoms, mood changes, or difficulty concentrating. Some women have few symptoms at all.

There is no single menopause experience—and there shouldn’t be a single approach to care.

Education matters because it gives you language for what you’re experiencing and helps you walk into healthcare conversations with better questions.

If something has changed and you’re wondering whether menopause could be part of the picture, you deserve a conversation that looks at YOU. 🌿

Share this with a woman who deserves better menopause information.

So many people find Rooted because a friend, family member or coworker told them, “You should talk to Jill.”

We don’t take that trust lightly.

If someone in your life has been looking for more personalized primary care, has questions about hormones, or simply wants a healthcare experience where they feel heard, we’d be honored for you to introduce them to Rooted.

Sometimes the most helpful referral isn’t telling someone what treatment they need.

It’s simply pointing them toward a place where they can ask questions and be taken seriously.

Thank you for continuing to share Rooted with the people you care about. 🌿

Hormone therapy can sound like one treatment—but there are different hormones, doses, delivery methods and reasons someone may consider therapy.

That’s why two people with similar symptoms may not leave with the same plan.

At Rooted, we look at the bigger picture: your symptoms, medical history, stage of life, goals, relevant testing and individual risk factors.

BHRT education shouldn’t be about convincing everyone to choose the same treatment.

It should help you understand the conversation well enough to make an informed decision with your healthcare provider. 🌿

Personalized care isn’t an extra. It’s the point.

Have a BHRT question you want us to cover next? Leave it in the comments.

Hot flashes get a lot of attention—but they are not the only reason people start asking questions about menopause and hormone therapy.

The menopause transition can also include night sweats and disrupted sleep, vaginal or urinary changes, and changes in bone health. Every person’s experience is different, which is exactly why hormone therapy should never be treated as one-size-fits-all.

For some patients, hormone therapy may be an option. For others, a different approach may make more sense.

At Rooted, the conversation starts with your symptoms, health history, goals and individual risk factors—not a blanket recommendation.

The more you understand your options, the better questions you can ask. đź’š

Save this for your next healthcare conversation—or send it to someone who has questions about menopause.

If you’re new to Rooted, welcome. 🌿

One of the things Jill cares most about is helping patients understand their health—not simply handing them a plan and sending them on their way.

Hormone care can feel overwhelming when you’re sorting through symptoms, lab results and conflicting information online. Jill’s approach is to slow the conversation down, listen to what you’re experiencing, look at the full picture and help you understand the options available to you.

That’s also why you’ll continue seeing more hormone education here.

We want this page to be a place where you can learn, ask better questions and feel more confident walking into your next healthcare conversation.

When we talk about hormone health, estrogen, progesterone and testosterone usually get most of the attention. But DHEA is part of the conversation, too.

DHEA is a hormone made primarily by the adrenal glands, and the body can use it as a building block for other hormones, including estrogen and testosterone. Levels generally decline as we age.

That does NOT mean every change in energy, mood or libido is caused by DHEA. Those symptoms can have many causes, which is why good hormone care starts with the full picture—not a guess.

At Rooted, our goal is to help you understand what your body is telling you and what questions are worth asking.

Hormone education should make your health feel clearer, not more confusing. 🌿

Save this post for later, and share it with someone who loves learning how the body works.

When people hear “thyroid,” weight is often the first thing that comes to mind.

But thyroid hormones help regulate much more — including energy use, body temperature, digestion, heart rate, and cognitive function.

In this month’s blog, we’re taking the Thyroid Hormone Spotlight one step further:

🌿 What the thyroid actually does
🌿 Why thyroid symptoms can be easy to overlook
🌿 Why symptoms alone aren’t enough to diagnose a thyroid condition
🌿 How testing helps providers understand the bigger picture

The goal isn’t to make you diagnose yourself. It’s to help you understand your body and arrive at your next healthcare conversation with better questions. 💚

Hormones can influence how you feel — but they aren’t the only part of your health story.

Sleep matters.
Stress matters.
Medications matter.
Metabolic health matters.
Your medical history matters.
Your goals matter.

That’s why Rooted approaches hormone conversations in the context of whole-person care.

Whether you come to us for hormone services, Direct Primary Care, or both, the goal is the same: connect the pieces so your care makes sense as a whole.

Education helps you understand the pieces.
Relationship-based care helps us put them together. 🌿

A symptom list can’t tell you whether you have a thyroid condition — but persistent changes can tell you it’s time to ask questions.

Thyroid testing may be part of the conversation when symptoms such as ongoing fatigue, feeling unusually cold, changes in hair or skin, constipation, slower thinking, or unexplained weight changes are sticking around.

The key word is conversation.

Many of these symptoms have multiple possible causes, which is why blood testing and a full health history matter.

You don’t need to diagnose yourself. You just need to know when something deserves a closer look. 🌿

Save this for your next appointment. If something has changed and stayed changed, bring it up with your healthcare provider.
