ON THE ROAD TRAVEL PLANS
-------------------------------

Does planning ahead overwhelm you? Do you find yourself rushing to get things in order at the last minute?

I’m a planner by nature and I find it easer to structure things to avoid last minute stress. Having things run smooth and as planned saves me so much time and effort. I’ve been traveling a lot to bowl 🎳 and making sure I have all of my essentials readily available is crucial.

On the top of the list is making sure I have all of my favorite and nutrient dense foods for a great performance. I typically cook all of my own plant foods that I’ll need to eat the night before and day of a tournament. Finding healthy foods in a location I am not familiar with is hard sometimes so having my own foods prepared and available to me in the hotel saves me time and energy. There’s no driving around or having limited options (especially plain-boring salads) to worry about. 🥗

I also spend time prior to the tournament, researching hotels that have a fridge of course to store my food (see the large insulated bag of food), and a gym for my workouts/stretch sessions. Also a plus is the location. I like to make sure its not too far from where I need to bowl. This hotel was accommodating and was less than ten minutes from the bowling alley. So, spending some time planning ahead will save you time and effort in the end. 😊

APPRECIATION 🍅
—————————
Observing quietly can bring on the feeling of appreciation. This organic tomato which is larger than the palm of my hands brought on this feeling of appreciation. I pulled off the organic seal, washed it and then was drawn to its vibrant red color. I was preparing to slice this to use on my veggie sandwich. Then the feeling of gratitude and appreciation came over me. If you have followed my page and have seen my food creations, then you know I primarily make my own meals and teach others to make their own as well.

While making my meals I sometimes think of how many other people do not have the means or access to purchase organic vegetables. In 2026 there are still food deserts and people would need to drive or take public transportation to source vegetables and healthy foods. Today, I share because I decided for a moment to think of my own self-care and how my appreciation for this fresh tomato brought joy to my soul. 🍅

Girl's Day Out
--------------

After a good time bowling, I really like to have a budget friendly dining experience. It’s usually a spur of the moment thing or I’d plan where to go if I’ve traveled out of town. This time, after bowling with new friends; one of which had a beautiful bridal set, I decided I wanted a hot meal.

Bok choy is one of my favorite vegetables. It has a savory, yet sweet taste compared to other green vegetables. I can eat it everyday. I also recommend it to my wellness clients who may suffer from high blood pressure or diabetes. You can find it in your local grocery stores and asian markets typically carry them if you have trouble finding them.

In the photo, the smaller bowl has a delicious veggie broth with bok choy and scallions. A simple hydrating and vitamin packed dish which I needed after bowling for a few hours. The larger bowl was my daughter’s choice and it has bok choy, freshly made noodles topped with a spicy oil. That oil is comprised of salt, garlic, scallions, red pepper flakes, coarse chili powder and toasted sesame seeds.

On to the next bowling and food experience!

STUDY YOUR CRAFT
——————————
Something that I find important is to continuously study. Besides being able to teach someone else what I’ve learned about portraits and food photography, it’s helped me support and express myself.

I fell in love with photography a long time ago. I bought my first professional camera after studying the rules of photography, thumbing through hundreds of images from world famous photographers and taking several photography classes.

After all of this, I still didn’t feel comfortable calling myself a photographer. This wasn’t important to me. I really just wanted to document my experiences and all of my creative work. I took a few thousand photos that turned out to be really good, started to showcase them online and received good feedback. A few thousand photos later I began to offer it as a service. Moral of this is to study and practice.

I ❤️ photography and the joy it brings me to express myself without words.

In this capture, I’m admiring a photo from a vegan 🌱 company’s advertisement at a natural food expo in Baltimore, Maryland. You can see a few of my photography work on my website (link in bio).

Is there something you do now that you had to study and practice before you offered it as a good or service?

HAPPY NATIONAL BOWLING DAY!
This Leo is striking everything in her way.

Mama; I'm doing it! 🥰
Bowling has become a big part of my personality as an August Leo. It's actually always been but coming back to it on a consistent basis reminds me of my drive to show up fully and be the best in everything I do. It's a part of my innate biological makeup to do things in EXCELLENCE.

No Negativity, No Doubt, No Fear, No Excuses, No Limitations, No Failure.

I see that I have a few new friends here! Welcome and excuse my absence. I can't believe I've been gone for so long but its for good reasons. Life has been moving fast and I have been enjoying the moments I have created.

Last time this year, I shared that I started bowling again and unbelievably I have been going strong for a full year. 🎳 Two season of league bowling later, I have improved and accomplished more than I could imagine. I received a certificate for the most improved female bowler in my Monday league. As a true competitor; I have also been able to be on the leader board for more tournaments. I've also gained more friendships along the way which is so cool.

Bonus is traveling and eating at some of the best restaurants with vegan food. I'm always hungry after a competition. I burn so many calories after hours of bowling and I need to fuel up to feel like myself again. 😊 This past weekend, I traveled out of town and visited a Thai restaurant with one of my life long friends who lives in the area. The food was amazing and authentic. 🍛 I miss tasting the true flavors of cultural foods so this was comforting. This Veggie Pad Thai (eggs and fish sauce excluded to be vegan) and Panang Vegetable Curry were both 10/10.

It hardly feels like its been over 10 years since I started teaching Pilates! I'm not one for trends but as Pilates grow in popularity, I am glad to say I've been a part of this modality. What a ride it continues to be in transforming the lives of so many people I meet. If you haven't joined me for a Pilates session yet, what are you doing? :)
