Perimenopause vs. Menopause: What's the difference?
Have you been feeling unlike yourself lately? Maybe you're more tired than usual, struggling with sleep, experiencing mood changes, or noticing changes in your weight. Your hormones could be playing a role!
While perimenopause and menopause are connected, they aren't the same thing.
✨ PERIMENOPAUSE: The transition leading up to menopause. Hormone levels, especially estrogen and progesterone, begin to fluctuate. This stage can last several years, and symptoms may begin even while you're still having periods.
✨ MENOPAUSE: The point when you've gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, when there isn't another explanation. Estrogen levels have declined, and the reproductive years have come to an end.
What symptoms can you experience?
• Hot flashes and night sweats
• Trouble sleeping or persistent fatigue
• Mood changes, anxiety, or irritability
• Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
• Changes in weight or body composition
• Irregular periods and changes in libido
You don't have to navigate these changes alone.
At Peak Performance Health & Wellness, we understand that hormonal changes can affect how you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through a personalized evaluation, discussion of your symptoms, and appropriate lab work, we can help you better understand what's happening in your body and discuss options that may support your individual needs.
