Today we want to give a special shoutout to one of our longtime customers, Mr. John Collier! 🥰

Mr. John has been part of our Medi Mart family for 23 YEARS! He never fails to walk through our doors with a good joke, a smile, and something smart to say to keep us on our toes! 😂 We never know what he’s going to come up with next, but one thing is for sure, Mr. John always brightens our days and makes our jobs a little more fun every time he walks through those doors!

It’s customers like Mr. John who make Medi Mart feel like more than just a pharmacy. We’re so thankful for the laughs, friendships, and memories we’ve shared over the years!

October has officially arrived at Medi Mart and we are ALL IN. 🎀🎃👻💊🍂

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, American Pharmacists Month AND spooky season — so naturally, we’re making it pink, a little strange, and very pharmacy. 💗

This month we’re especially celebrating the amazing women who make pharmacy what it is. From our pharmacists to our pharmacy technicians and all the women behind the counter keeping everything moving, women bring so much knowledge, compassion, strength and personality to this profession every single day. 💊✨

And let’s be honest… pharmacy girls are their own kind of strange. 😂 We can pronounce medications nobody else can, somehow read handwriting that looks like ancient hieroglyphics, count by 5s without thinking, know way too much about the human body, and still get ridiculously excited when the fall decorations come out. 🎃💀

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time to support the women fighting, celebrate the survivors, stand beside their families and remember the women we’ve lost. 🎀💗

💊 If the old drugstores of Hope, Arkansas, could talk, they’d have quite a story to tell.

Pharmacy has been part of Hope for generations. Through the years, our community has been served by names like Cox Drug, Deanna Drug, Ward Drug, Crescent Drug, Village Drug, Mitchell’s Medi-Mart and Medi-Mart Pharmacy. Crescent Drug was even known for its old-fashioned soda fountain, reminding us of a time when the neighborhood drugstore wasn’t just somewhere you picked up medicine—it was a gathering place for the community. 🥤💊

Hope has also been home to pharmacists who made an impact beyond our city limits. John Ward, Frank Ward and John Cox each went on to serve as president of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association. That’s pretty impressive for our little Southwest Arkansas town and shows just how deep Hope’s connection to the pharmacy profession really runs.

For us, there’s an even more personal connection to that history. Cox Drug eventually became Mitchell’s Medi-Mart, and today that story continues as Medi-Mart Pharmacy. Pharmacy has changed a LOT through the generations, but we still love the part that hasn’t—knowing our customers, caring about their families and being a hometown pharmacy our community can count on.

On World Pharmacists Day, we’re celebrating the pharmacists who came before us, the ones behind the counter today, and the history we’re fortunate enough to continue. 💜💊

From yesterday’s hometown drugstore to today’s Medi-Mart — we’re proud to keep Hope’s pharmacy tradition alive, one prescription and one neighbor at a time.

💊 Happy World Pharmacists Day! 💊

Today we’re celebrating the profession of pharmacy — its history, the women who helped shape it, and especially the two amazing pharmacists who take care of our community every day. 🩷

Pharmacy is one of the world’s oldest healthcare professions, with its roots going back thousands of years. Over time, pharmacists went from preparing medicines by hand to becoming an important part of modern healthcare — helping patients understand their medications, stay healthy, and receive the care they need.

Women have an especially important place in pharmacy history. In the United States, Elizabeth Gooking Greenleaf, one of the earliest known female pharmacists in the American colonies, was practicing pharmacy in Boston in the 1700s. Since then, generations of women have continued to grow, lead, and make their mark on the profession. 👩‍⚕️💊

Here at Medi Mart, we’re lucky enough to have two incredible women representing two different chapters of that history.

🩷 Kristi has been a pharmacist since 1991 — that’s 35 years of knowledge, experience, dedication, and caring for others.

🩷 Abbi graduated from pharmacy school this summer and has already been absolutely killing it as our newest pharmacist! She represents the next generation of pharmacy, and we’re so excited to watch where her career takes her.

One pharmacist with decades of experience. One just beginning her journey. Both making a difference every single day.

Today we celebrate the history behind the profession, the women who helped pave the way, and especially Kristi & Abbi for everything they do for Medi Mart and our community. 💕

World Pharmacists Day is Friday, but one day just isn’t enough to celebrate our two wonderful pharmacists, Abbi & Kristi!

So each day this week, we’re doing a little something different to show them just how much we appreciate everything they do for Medi Mart and our community. 🫶🏻
