On Thursdays, we go to WORK!

Our School Age students are putting their skills to work! Each week, they take supply orders from classrooms throughout First Step, then head to the supply closet to gather and fulfill each order.

It’s a fun, hands-on way to practice responsibility, teamwork, communication, and job skills—and judging by these smiles, they’re pretty proud of their work! 😊

And of course, every great supply crew needs an official uniform. They LOVE their new aprons! 💙

Locust Bayou/Calhoun County Fire
If your family is temporarily displaced by the fire in Locust Bayou/Calhoun Co., and you have preschool children age 18mo. to Kindergarten, you may bring them free of charge to First Step Preschool in Fordyce to allow children a safe nurturing environment while the family checks on damage, secures property, and makes arrangement for temporary or long term displacement. For assistance, contact the Director Stephanie Abbott of First Step Fordyce.

For more than three decades, Debbie has been a constant part of First Step—sharing her time, talents, compassion, and dedication with the individuals we serve and the people she works alongside.

We LOVE summer, but there’s just something about having our school-age kids back that makes our hearts so full! 💙

The smiles, the laughter, the energy—and maybe a little bit of chaos—we wouldn’t have it any other way. 😊
