On October 23, 2021, I officially launched my own nutrition and wellness practice. Five years later, I’m feeling especially grateful and proud of this milestone! 🌿

My journey here has been a winding road.

From growing up with French and Italian influences that shaped my love of food and healthy living, to a first career in media, to returning to school in my 30s to become a registered dietitian, the pieces have gradually come together.

My lifelong passion for healthy aging and longevity continues to guide my work, especially with women in midlife and beyond.

Over these five years, Nutrition Sessions has grown to encompass individual nutrition support, corporate wellness and special projects, community education, collaborations, and now retreats and experiential wellness programs.

I’ve learned so much about entrepreneurship along the way, including how important it is to diversify, adapt, and stay connected to what matters most.

Building a sustainable business has required many of the same principles I advocate for in health and wellness: understanding your priorities, creating supportive foundations, adapting as circumstances change, and recognizing that there’s rarely a single path to success.

To everyone who has been part of this journey, including clients, colleagues, collaborators, mentors, friends, and family, thank you for your encouragement, trust, and support.

Here’s to five years of Nutrition Sessions, and to the next chapter! 🥂

When was the last time you set aside an entire day for your own well-being?

Between work, family, and everyday responsibilities, it’s easy for our own needs to move further down the list.

And while we may understand the importance of nourishing ourselves, managing stress, moving our bodies, and getting enough rest, making time for these things is another matter.

I created Rooted & Renewed: An Autumn Day Retreat with this in mind.

On November 7, we’ll gather at beautiful StarHill Farms for a day to step away from our usual routines and focus on what supports us in this season of life.

Through nourishing food, gentle movement, meaningful conversations, and time for reflection, we’ll explore practical ways to support our health and well-being, with space to simply enjoy the experience.

My hope is that each woman leaves feeling refreshed, with new perspectives, meaningful connections, and ideas she can carry into everyday life.

A few spaces remain, and enrollment is open through October 30.

The way you ate and exercised before may not seem to work quite the same way anymore.

As we move through our 30s, 40s, and 50s+, changes in energy, metabolism, sleep, stress, and overall well-being affect what supports us best.

There’s no shortage of advice telling women to eat differently, exercise differently, and do more for their health. I believe the better starting point is understanding what’s changing before simply adding “more” to the list.

That’s why next Tuesday, I’m offering a free 30-minute virtual class:

Eating Well in Midlife:
What Changes, What Matters, What Helps
Tuesday, October 6 | 12:00–12:30 p.m. CT

We’ll explore what’s going on during perimenopause and beyond and where it can be helpful to focus.

This class is also part of the lead-up to Rooted & Renewed, my November 7 women’s day retreat, and I’ll share a little about that toward the end.

The class is free and open to women 35+ who want a better understanding of how to prioritize their health. I’d love to have you join me!

There will always be another nutrition strategy, supplement, test, medication or wellness approach to consider.

Some of them may be useful. But useful doesn’t necessarily mean it’s what you need right now, or that you’ll need it at all.

I believe in first understanding what’s happening, looking at your health history and priorities, and considering which foundations may need more attention before deciding what else might be helpful.

That philosophy is also woven into Rooted & Renewed: An Autumn Day Retreat. We’ll spend the day exploring nutrition and nourishment, movement, mindset, reflection and other supportive rhythms that matter for midlife and healthy aging.

Early Enrollment ends tomorrow, Sept. 15, and includes my October Fall Nourish Reset as a bonus.

I recently had the opportunity to join Liz Jolley on The Great Leader Great Mom Podcast for a conversation about something I hear from women often: Why does my body seem to be changing even though I’m doing so many things “right”?

In this bonus episode, Midlife Body Changes: What Actually Matters?, we talked about nutrition, changing health needs in midlife, and why looking at the bigger picture can be so valuable during this season of life.

We also talked a little about my upcoming Rooted & Renewed: An Autumn Day Retreat and why I’m creating opportunities for women to experience health and wellness beyond simply learning more information.

Thank you, Liz, for inviting me to be your first podcast guest! I really enjoyed our conversation. 💚

More nutrition information doesn’t always make everyday food choices easier.

A little more structure can actually reduce the mental load, especially when that structure is personalized to your needs, health goals, and real life.

Over time, supportive choices can begin to feel more natural and require less active thought.

That’s part of what sustainable nutrition can look like: feeling better equipped to support your health without having to think about every choice all day long.

Maybe nothing feels dramatically wrong. You’ve just noticed that your energy or sleep isn’t quite what it used to be. Your body composition may be shifting. Perimenopause may have brought changes you weren’t expecting. Or perhaps your lab work looks “normal,” but you still don’t quite feel like yourself.

You may be wondering what’s changed and where to begin.

I created my complimentary Women’s Wellness Rhythm Reflection Guide to help women in midlife and beyond reflect on what they’re experiencing and begin recognizing patterns.

The Guide gives you a chance to step back and consider what may deserve your attention next.
