💫Motivation Monday💫
Testing the limits of your pouch means eating until you feel full…or even stuffed!
Instead of practicing portion control, we see some patients starting off with a large amount of food (regular size dinner plate at the restaurant or box of crackers, bag of popcorn/chips, pint of ice cream while watching TV) and they will keep eating, hoping their gastric pouch will tell them when to stop.
This leads to possibly vomiting and overeating as time goes on (over months, years).
Without practicing portion control, how will you know when to stop? Some foods, especially processed junk food like chips and cookies are much easier to eat vs lean meats and veggies.
Practices portion control using small 7inch plates, small food storage containers or snack zip baggies to help you assign appropriate and safe amounts of food to eat.
If you keep eating to point where you feel full, every time you eat this way, you may end up eating a little bit more because you are waiting for the fullness/stuffed sensation.
