I need to advise against engaging in business with ICAT (home insurance) and their agency, The Spindle Group, located at 8323 Southwest Freeway, Ste. 350, Houston, TX 77074. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
ICAT was characterized by severe operational and billing issues, including:
- Scheduling: ICAT failed to provide inspectors on my days off, yet cited policy protocols and held me responsible when I canceled the contract due to their lack of availability.
- Unreasonable Fees: Following the cancellation, I was automatically charged an unexplained $1,217.67 fee for a single month of coverage, resulting in total payments of $2,851.44.
- Customer Service Deficits: ICAT has consistently failed to respond to customer service inquiries and written communications.
Additionally, while The Spindle Group recommended ICAT, they declined to assist when these issues occurred and instructed me to resolve the matter independently.
Given these practices and the lack of support, I strongly recommend avoiding both organizations.
