Is it possible to track your cycle postpartum??â â â
â
After having a baby, waiting for your first period can feel like a total guessing game. However, with a few tools, you can start tracking your cycle and possibly even predict when your period will start! â â â
â
Personally, after having my son, I ovulated 5 months postpartum and was able to confirm it with the following fertility signsđđ˝â â
â
â 1ď¸âŁ Sustained increase in my basal body temperature (I use the Tempdrop Fertility Tracker armband thermometer to track this, especially because my sleep schedule is so sporadic with the wee one)â â
â
â 2ď¸âŁ Fertile cervical fluid, which is stretchy and looks like raw egg white during ovulation, then dries up post-ovulation.â
â
âźď¸NOTE: There were many times I thought I saw fertile cervical fluid, but it was just arousal fluid. Breastfeeding can create arousal fluid and this fluid can look a lot like fertile cervical fluid. A trick to distinguish between the two is to roll the fluid between your fingers because arousal fluid dries up & fertile cervical fluid doesnât.â â â
â
3ď¸âŁ Middleschmertz- This twinge in the o***y can happen a few days before, during, or after ovulation, however not everyone will feel it. I felt a twinge in my o***y around the time I noticed fertile cervical fluid. â
â
đЏBased off all these signs, I was pretty confident that I would get my period within 11-12 days. And I did! They donât call me the Period Guru for nothing!) And you, too, can be your own guru by tracking your own cycles! â
