Hair is unfortunately very bad at instant gratification.
If PRP is being considered for hair loss, the first question shouldn’t be “How fast can I grow new hair?”
It should be:
What is causing the hair loss in the first place?
Hair shedding and thinning can have different causes, and they don’t all respond to the same treatment. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that evaluating the scalp — and sometimes additional testing — can be important in identifying why someone is losing hair.
For appropriate candidates, PRP uses a concentrated portion of the patient’s own blood that is injected into areas of hair loss. AAD describes PRP treatment for pattern hair loss as a series rather than a one-and-done procedure, with changes generally assessed over the following months.

Morpheus8 isn’t a “same settings for everyone” treatment. 🩷

Two clients can come in asking for the same thing — firmer skin, smoother texture, a little more definition — and still need very different treatment approaches.

Why?

Because we’re not only looking at the concern.
We also look at where we’re treating, how thick the tissue is in that area, your skin condition, and what we’re actually trying to change.
The cheeks, jawline, under-chin area and neck are not identical pieces of tissue. So it wouldn’t make much sense to treat every area — or every person — with one universal depth and energy setting.
And this is where “stronger” can become a misleading idea.
A higher setting does not automatically mean a better result. With RF microneedling, the goal is to deliver the appropriate amount of treatment to the appropriate depth and area, while considering how that tissue should respond and recover.
So during a consultation, instead of asking:
“What’s the strongest setting you can use?”
A much more useful question is:
“What are you trying to accomplish in this area, and how are you choosing the settings for it?”
That answer tells you much more about the treatment than the number on the screen.

That usually comes down to dose, placement, and how your muscles naturally move.

Botox works by reducing muscle activity in the treated area. The goal doesn’t have to be “no movement.” In many cases, the treatment can be planned to soften repetitive movement while still allowing natural facial expression.
That’s why two people with the same forehead lines may not need the same number of units.
We look at:
- how strongly the muscle contracts,
- how much brow movement you naturally have,
- whether one side moves more than the other,
- and which expressions you want to keep.
The result should still look like your face — just less tense in the areas that bother you.
