Understanding today's New Moon Energy.
Today's New Moon occurs at 11:50 AM Eastern in Libra, at approximately 17 degrees. Libra is symbolized by the scales and is associated with balance, harmony, relationships, fairness, beauty, and partnership. What makes the New Moon especially interesting astrologically is that Venus, Libra's ruling planet, is in retrograde in Scorpio. This combination is an invitation to examine relationships, personal values, emotional patterns, and whether we are honoring our own needs while caring for others. October 10th also carries the numerological symbolism of 10/10 associated with completion, renewal, and new beginnings. **You cannot create a balanced life while continually abandoning yourself to keep everything else in balance.** That is what you need to look at and focus on today. Am I caring for self or only others, and if so what am I going to do to change that. The Lesson of Libra is balance WITHOUT sacrifice. Balance does not mean giving everyone else what they want while ignoring what we need. This is especially important for parents. You do your children a disservice if you are putting their needs before yours. I know that's what we have been programmed to believe but it's actually the opposite. The better the parent is doing the better the child does NOT the other way around. So if you want healthy, well rounded children then take care of their Mother/Father first.
