Today, we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, languages, and resilience of Indigenous peoples and communities.
We also recognize that mental wellness is deeply connected to culture, identity, community, and belonging. Culturally responsive mental health care means listening to Indigenous voices, respecting traditional healing practices, and supporting access to care that honors each community’s unique experiences.
Celebration must go hand in hand with recognition of the historical and ongoing inequities that impact Indigenous well-being.
Today and every day, may we commit to learning, listening, honoring Indigenous leadership, and supporting mental health resources shaped by the communities they serve. 🤎
