✨ Acuscope vs. Myopulse — What’s the Difference? ✨
You may hear me talk about using both the acuscope and Myopulse during a session, but they actually serve different purposes!
⚡ ACUSCOPE
The acuscope focuses primarily on the nervous system. It uses microcurrent technology along with biofeedback to read the tissue and deliver electrical stimulation based on what the body is communicating back to the device. This instrument uses square wave forms.
I commonly use the acuscope to:
• Support the nervous system
• Address areas of pain or discomfort
• Help identify and work through areas of dysfunction
• Support recovery following strenuous work or competition
• Promote overall balance and function
💪 MYOPULSE
The Myopulse is designed specifically with muscles and other soft tissues in mind. Rather than focusing primarily on the nervous system, it is used to work directly with muscular and soft-tissue areas that may be tight, sore, fatigued, or recovering. This instrument uses sinusoidal wave forms.
I commonly use the Myopulse to:
• Address muscle soreness and tension
• Support soft-tissue recovery
• Help relax tight or overworked muscles
• Promote healthy circulation in the treatment area
• Support muscles before and after competition
🐴 WHY USE BOTH?
The two instruments complement each other! The acuscope allows me to focus on the nervous system and areas of dysfunction, while the Myopulse allows me to follow up by working more specifically with the muscles and soft tissues.
Every horse is different, which is why sessions can be tailored to what the horse needs!
Two different tools working together to support your equine athlete. 🤍
