Keep your home and family safe. Dispose of expired or unneeded prescription drugs at the annual DEA Drug Takeback Day, this Saturday, October 29th from 10am-2pm. Local police departments and other DEA sanctioned locations will safely collect and dispose of any unwanted medications. “For everyone’s safety, it’s really a good idea to make sure you keep all medications in a secure area in your home,” said Dr. Rami Khoury, one of IEP Urgent Care’s emergency physician owners. “Any expired drugs or prescriptions you no longer need should be disposed of safely, and this annual event hosted by the DEA is a great reminder to do so.” “Small children are curious, may think something resembles candy, and ingest it. And others may be seeking to use prescription drugs inappropriately,” said Dr. Khoury. Some police departments have permanent and secure collection bins at the front desk area year-round, so if you can’t make it this Saturday, you can likely find a place where you can safely dispose of unneeded prescription drugs.

In honor of all the moms, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, and best friends we’ve lost and with love and respect for all those who fought, survived, and thrive, IEP Urgent Care supports Breast Cancer Awareness month. All women 50-74 should have an annual breast exam and women 40 and older may wish to consider it. Getting and staying healthy lowers your risk of developing breast cancer and can help improve chances of surviving if it occurs. If you are a woman between 40-64 years of age who is uninsured or underinsured, you may qualify for free breast and cervical screenings through the Michigan Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP). Women ages 21-39 may qualify as well.

About Us A Little About Us The Tri-County Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) is a community-based partnership created to help provide uninsured or under-insured individuals who face high out of pocket costs due to insurance deductibles full access to breast and cervical cancer screen...
