The clause that decides how much a mistake costs you.
A limitation of liability clause caps how much one party can owe the other if something goes wrong. The cap is often tied to the fees paid under the contract rather than the actual loss, and indirect or consequential losses are commonly excluded altogether.
Two things worth checking every time: whether confidentiality, IP, or indemnities are carved out of the cap, and whether the clause protects both sides or only one.
