I’ve had so many of you ask, “What about your consultations?” So let me say it clearly: my consultation practice is staying open. I’ll keep seeing clients for as long as I’m able to.

I won’t sugarcoat it. Times are tough for small businesses right now, and both sides of our business have felt it. What keeps my practice going is you, booking appointments and sending your friends and family my way. Every booking truly makes a difference.

💚 A Hard Announcement from Forest Fresh LLC 💚

Brian and I have made the difficult decision to close the Forest Fresh retail store at 301 Main Street.

We just celebrated 12 years on October 3rd, and we’ve loved every minute of it. We loved getting to know you, hearing about your families, and helping you find what you needed. But I’m going to be honest with you, because that’s how we’ve always done things here: this economy has taken a real bite out of our business, and keeping the store open just isn’t possible anymore.

Here’s what I want you to know:

🌿 My consultation practice is NOT closing. I’ve moved my office to 2853 S. State Road 162, Jasper, and I’ll keep seeing clients there by appointment.
🌿 David, our herbalist, will be in the store one last time on Friday, October 30 seeing people . If you get your tinctures from him, please plan to come that day, we will have extra inventory that day only.
🌿Our store is still open regular hours. We will be closing sometime in November.

Thank you for every visit, every conversation, and every bit of support you’ve given us. It has meant more than you know.

Do you even know where to look on your lab work to see how your thyroid is doing?

Pictured below is the test most doctors run. And usually the only one they run. It’s called TSH.

I want you to notice something. This result is normal. Right there in the green.

So if this test is normal, is there any reason to order more tests? Sadly, most of the time, no more tests get ordered. Your TSH is normal, so your thyroid is fine. End of conversation.

But here’s the thing. Symptoms really matter when it comes to your thyroid. In many cases, symptoms show up before the lab work moves. And this is just one test. It is not giving you the whole picture.

I am so excited... I sold my first book! 📖 Thank you, Alexis! 💛

I took this photo this morning. It’s very similar to the one I took for the cover of my book, but the fog was much heavier today. As I stood there looking at it, it reminded me of what the labels we use really do. They cloud what is actually there.

That fog holds all of the judgments, misconceptions, and falsehoods that so often come attached to a label. And the sad thing is, most of the time we don’t even realize it’s there.

I want to be honest with all of you. I did not write this book to make money. I published it myself through Amazon (anyone can do it), and there is no one backing me or promoting it. Will I ever make enough from book sales to cover all the hours I poured into it? I highly doubt it.

So why did I do it?

Because I want our world to be better. I want our children, and their children, to have a better place to live.

When I look across social media, watch the news, or just listen to the conversations around me, all I hear is discord. Where has the harmony gone? Where has the compassion gone? It feels like the voices of chaos have gotten so much louder than the voices of love.

That is where the idea for this book was born. I kept asking myself, how can I make a difference? I’m just one person in a very small town.

But it starts with one person at a time. Just like the butterfly that flaps its wings and affects the world on the other side. 🦋

So to everyone who is tired of the chaos and wondering how you can make a difference, this book offers a different way of looking at yourself and the world around you.
