ONE YEAR AGO: My AV Fistula (dialysis access) ruptured. It happened very early in the morning while I slept on the couch. I lived alone. If I hadn’t woken up, I probably would’ve bled out.

I somehow managed to call 911 and they arrived in 10 minutes. I was rushed to the ER, and went through an emergency AV fistula ligation surgery.

I was so scared!

God waited until I was all by myself for this to happen. He knew I’d realize—once again—that He is always in control. He knew I’d see how precious life is and how much He loves me. He showed me how to have faith in Him in ALL situations.

It revealed a lot about the people in my life as well. A lot.

I’m thankful for the lesson, the revelation and the renewed appreciation for my life.

God is steadfast.

Every donated organ represents a generous gift and a chance to save a life.

Researchers at Mayo Clinic, in collaboration with the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation, have developed a new real-time monitoring system that gives transplant teams a more complete picture of a donor liver's health during machine perfusion. The technology could help clinicians better evaluate donated organs and, ultimately, expand access to life-saving liver transplantation.

"Every organ donated is incredibly valuable," says Dr. Michelle Nguyen, transplant surgeon at Mayo Clinic. "By giving transplant teams a clearer understanding of an organ's health, we're working toward a future where more donated livers can safely reach the patients who need them most."

Published in Nature Communications, this research lays the foundation for future advances in organ preservation and transplantation.

My 3rd kidney is on the left ⬅️

I completed a Dexa scan today, a test I undergo every three years due to my ongoing Prednisone therapy. My bone density actually improved!

God is great ⭐️
