There’s something magical about poached pears as the seasons turn colder. 🍐✨
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, pears are cherished for their cooling, moistening nature and their ability to nourish Yin and moisten the Lungs, making gently cooked pears a beloved remedy for dryness, a scratchy throat, and dry coughs.
In Ayurveda, warm, gently spiced pears offer a softer way to enjoy fruit as the weather cools. Paired with warming spices like cinnamon, ginger, or cardamom, they bring comfort to digestion and a little warmth to the body.
A simple, ancient ritual: poach pears low and slowwwew with water, honey or maple syrup and warming spices like ginger, nutmeg, cloves and looooots of cinnamon. Add butter or gheee. You can also use brown sugar, let the aroma fill your kitchen, and nourish yourself with the changing season.
