Once upon a time I had the most purr-fect Siberian Forest Cat a girl could ever ask for. I named him Indiana Jones because that was my married last name at the time; and how could I not??? Indy saw me through moving to new places, going to a huge university after community college, unraveling in nursing school, my traumatic divorce, tumultuous career shifts, COVID, mental health rock bottoms, my spiritual awakening, healing CPTSD, being a new mama, etc. There were many years, while we were roommates, that he was the only reason I felt I had to get out of bed. He was 15 when he died this January (2026), and the absolute love of my life and best friend. His loss was the greatest and most devastating of my life so far.
I had to split my memoir “Rest In Power Indiana Jones, My Siberian Forest Angel” into two parts because there were too many pictures and videos for one post.
In Part 1, I show photo & video clips with captions of the beginning of our love story.
At the end of Part 1, is the first half of a 60 minute video discussing his life and death, filmed a month after his death (Feb 2026), and Part 2 begins with the second half.
Part 2 goes on to chronicle our getaway weekends toward the end of his life at our upstate barn sanctuary and walks you through my grief as I experienced his death and burial.
This reel is a clip of the “Grief Integration Riff” that I filmed 3 days after he died.
