We’re proud to be an autism inclusive employer through our social enterprises, and Big Easy Cafe.

Inside the Stoops Family Adult Services Building at The Els Center of Excellence, the Big Easy Cafe serves as a vocational lab for clients in our Adult Day Training (ADT) program and individuals in our Work Experience (WE) program. Clients learn skills related to food service, while the cafe also provides paid employment for autistic adults.

Sea of Possibilities is another business where clients build and refine their job skills. The social enterprise creates and sells ocean-themed artwork made with materials like shells, driftwood, coral, sand, and sea glass. Participants in the ADT program are involved in the day-to-day work, including production, inventory, sales, and community outreach.

The Els for Autism Golf Challenge continued its 2026 season in September with two incredible regional events at TPC Harding Park and Trump National Golf Club Jupiter! 💙⛳

We’re grateful to the golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and event partners who came together to support individuals with autism and their families.

Alongside our September tournaments, our Ernie Els Autism Golf Clinics brought individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities onto the course to practice their skills, try something new, and enjoy a day of golf.

A big thank you to the organizations who helped make these clinics possible!

For Tina, having a job means more than earning a paycheck. She enjoys earning her own money, doing the things she loves, and being part of a team.

Before starting her job as a server assistant at North Palm Beach Country Club, Tina practiced her skills through our Work Experience program in partnership with The Club at Ibis.

She also worked with our Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Vendor Services team and secured her job in January 2026.

Since starting at North Palm Beach Country Club, one thing has stood out to Tina: feeling like she belongs.

We’re grateful to the North Palm Beach Country Club team for welcoming Tina, giving her the opportunity to contribute, and making her feel like part of the team.

Finding people who understand can make a difference.

For many parents and caregivers of children with autism, everyday experiences can feel isolating. Social plans may look different, friendships can change, and finding people who understand the realities of their family can be difficult.

That’s why Els for Autism created Donuts & Dialogue.

These gatherings allow parents and caregivers to connect, share experiences, ask questions, exchange ideas, and build relationships with other families and professionals.

This week, we’re highlighting the importance of community and the role connection can play in helping families feel less alone.

To learn more about Donuts & Dialogue and opportunities to connect, please email [email protected].

Creating a workplace that works for everyone starts with understanding what employees need.

Els for Autism works with organizations around the world, including the York Region District School Board, which serves the York Region of Ontario, Canada.

The York Region District School Board partnered with U Can Employ to learn more about autism inclusion and ways to better support autistic employees. The school board was recognized as an Autism Inclusive Employer in 2024 and 2025, and we’re excited to continue working with them into 2027.

U Can Employ works with organizations to better understand autism and put practical strategies in place for more inclusive workplaces.

For JR, having a job means getting to connect with people and be part of his community.

Through our Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Vendor Services, our team worked with JR as he prepared for employment at Publix. He built his resume, practiced for his interview, and started his job in June.

JR is now putting the skills he practiced during VR into his everyday work. He’s building his skills, getting to know his coworkers and customers, and becoming part of the team.

We’re proud to celebrate JR and his accomplishments this National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
