Violet is ready for a home.. maybe add dab with her too from the shelter..

Congratulations Merlot… you cutie.. enjoy your new home 🥰

Earthly Insights ✨

Through Kimberly’s compassionate communication, we continue learning more about our shelter animals and what helps them feel safe, comfortable, and loved.

Violet is a smart, energetic girl who loves adventure, chasing, playing in the water, and learning new things. Beneath her goofy, playful personality is a sensitive girl who needs patience and time to build trust. She would thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and can help her feel safe and confident. Violet loves snuggling under blankets and is ready for someone who will embrace her unique personality. She is still available for adoption!

Merlot’s reading highlighted her need for a quiet, loving environment where she can feel safe, secure, and comfortable being herself. She would thrive as the only cat in a home with someone who offers her patience, gentle affection, and reassurance. We’re so happy to share that Merlot has been adopted! We hope her new home gives her the peace and love she deserves. ❤️

We’re grateful to Earthly Insights for helping us better understand these special animals and their individual needs.

🐶 DOG GETTING STIFF OR SLOWING DOWN? THIS COMMON KITCHEN SPICE HAS SOME FASCINATING RESEARCH BEHIND IT. 🫚

In a peer reviewed randomized controlled study published in the Iranian Journal of Veterinary Surgery, researchers found dogs given ginger root powder had significantly lower levels of several inflammatory markers linked to cartilage degeneration and osteoarthritis formation.

But it’s very important to remember that controlling inflammation is only half the battle: if you don’t supply the raw materials for cartilage repair and maintenance, natural anti-inflammatories alone don’t slow down the degenerative process .

💜 That’s exactly why, when Dr. Karen Becker formulated Mobility Matrix™, she wanted to support the whole mobility system including joints, cartilage, connective tissue, joint lubrication AND muscle.

Mobility Matrix™ combines UC II® undenatured collagen, eggshell membrane, glucosamine, MSM and hyaluronic acid to support healthy joints and connective tissue, plus creatine to support the muscles aging dogs rely on to stay strong and mobile.

🫚 WANT TO TRY GINGER as a natural anti-inflammatory adjunct? In the canine study, dogs received 250 mg of ginger root powder for every 10 pounds, roughly ⅛ tsp. (Check with your vet first, especially if your dog takes other NSAID medications).

Supporting mobility from multiple angles can make a big difference for our aging dogs. 🐕💜

This just happened…

Tips for you

Summer weekends in the country can be wonderful for dogs... until they have a run-in with the local wildlife. If your dog gets sprayed by a skunk, skip the tomato juice. Tomato juice may mask the smell temporarily, but it does not remove skunk odor.

A homemade de-skunking mix of 3% hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and liquid soap can help remove the smell from your dog’s coat, but it should be mixed fresh, used right away, and never stored in a closed container. Keep the mixture away from your dog’s eyes, nose, and mouth. If your dog’s face was sprayed, wipe it gently with a washcloth and plain water instead.

Call your veterinarian if your dog was bitten or scratched, skunk spray got in your dog’s eyes, your dog is vomiting, weak, pale, or lethargic, or your dog’s rabies vaccine is not current.

🦨❗

Nellie got adopted the day after we met...

Pike still needs you.. can you give him a good home?

Earthly Insights✨

Through Kimberly’s compassionate communication, we continue gaining deeper understanding of what our shelter animals need to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. With Earthly Insights, we learn more about their personalities, preferences, and the little things that help them thrive.

Pike is a smart, energetic dog who knows what he wants and is always ready for his next adventure. He loves being active, exploring the outdoors, running through tall grass, and playing in the water. He especially enjoys chasing after squirrels, birds, and other critters, and he would love a family who can keep his busy mind and body engaged. Pike wants to feel loved, have a family who follows through on their promises, and have plenty of opportunities to run, play, explore, and simply be a dog. Pike is still waiting for his perfect match and is available for adoption.

Nellie is a sensitive girl who seems to be looking for a sense of comfort, security, and peace. Her reading showed how important patience, understanding, and feeling safe are for her. We’re so happy to share that Nellie has found her family and is now adopted! We hope her new home gives her all the comfort, patience, and love she deserves.

These insights help us better understand and support animals like Pike and Nellie, ensuring they receive the care, enrichment, patience, and compassion they deserve. We’re so grateful that Earthly Insights gave us another opportunity to learn more about them, and we’re especially happy to see Nellie begin this next chapter.
