We are an accredited member of the Association of Accredited Ultrasound Imaging Facilities, so we are bound by strict guidelines concerning our equipment, staff, and protocols. Our technicians at First Look Ultrasound are all RDMS or RDMS eligible. This means that they have graduated from an accredited school of sonography and gained diagnostic experience by Licensed Professional Sonographers in a hospital setting. The safety of you and your baby are of the utmost importance to our staff and we are committed to providing you with a safe, enjoyable imaging experience.

35 WEEKS & LOOK AT THAT FACE 🥹✨

Who said 35 weeks is too late for amazing ultrasound photos?! This little babe absolutely showed OFF for us. 😍

We were able to capture these fabulous images because baby was positioned perfectly AND had a beautiful pocket of fluid around the face — two things that can make such a difference when capturing those sweet little features.

Want to give yourself the best chance at gorgeous photos, even later in pregnancy? PREP MATTERS! 💧

Our recommended water prep:
💧 Drink 1 gallon of water every day for 5 days leading up to your appointment
🍭 Have something sweet right before your scan so baby is hopefully nice & active
✨ Come ready to see that sweet face!

While baby’s position and fluid around the face can never be guaranteed, following your prep can help give us the best opportunity to capture those cheeks, lips, nose and little expressions. 🥹

🦭 STORYTIME: I touched a Hawaiian monk seal… but there’s WAY more to the story.

Sharing this experience for educational purposes only. I absolutely do NOT condone approaching, touching, feeding, chasing, or disturbing Hawaiian monk seals in the wild.

Hawaiian monk seals are endangered, federally protected wild animals, and getting too close or disturbing one can potentially result in serious penalties and fines. They may look cute and cuddly, but they are also powerful wild animals that can bite and seriously injure you if they feel threatened.

Please always respect posted signs, barriers, and guidance from wildlife officials, and give monk seals plenty of space. 🌺🦭

I’m sharing my personal experience because it taught me something—and hopefully this story can help educate someone else, like future sonographers.

Admire them. Photograph them. Protect them. But please don’t touch them. 🤍
