Mental health care isn’t just for moments in crisis.

Changes in sleep, concentration, mood, energy, stress tolerance, physical tension, or the ability to manage everyday life can all be reasons to pay attention.

The brain and body respond to stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and difficult experiences together. Care can help address what’s happening before struggle becomes overwhelming.

If something hasn’t felt right lately, it’s okay to talk about it.

If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis or thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 for immediate support.

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

When someone is struggling with depression, trauma, self-harm, thoughts of su***de, or simply reaching a point where it feels difficult to keep going, families often have an important question: What would getting help actually look like?

Our latest article looks at what can happen in therapy—from the first assessment and safety concerns to treatment for depression, emotional regulation, trauma and PTSD. We also explain how approaches such as CBT, DBT techniques and EMDR may fit into care, and why the brain-body connection can be an important part of understanding mental health.

There isn’t one treatment path that fits everyone. Understanding the options can make the path forward a little clearer.

Sometimes the hardest part of being worried about someone is wondering whether you should say something.

You can.

It's okay to ask directly whether someone is thinking about su***de. Asking the question doesn't put the idea into someone's head. What it can do is give them an opportunity to tell the truth about what they're experiencing.

Listen without trying to solve everything.
Let them know you care.
Take what they tell you seriously, and help them connect with additional support.
Don't minimizing what they're experiencing or try to debate them out of it.

And 988 is for you, too. If you're worried about someone you love and aren't sure what to do next, you can call or text 988 or use the online chat for guidance.

For some, the hardest part of starting therapy is not the desire for support. It is the logistics of getting there.

Tele-therapy can make care more accessible by reducing travel time, easing scheduling barriers, and allowing you to meet with a therapist from a private, familiar space. The setting is virtual, but the care is still real, relational, and clinically meaningful.

If you have been thinking about therapy but getting to an office has been difficult, tele-therapy may be a good place to begin.

During seasonal transitions like the start of the school year, the nervous system can carry more than we realize. New schedules, earlier mornings, after-school activities, work demands, and less downtime can all impact emotional capacity.

If this back-to-school season feels heavier than expected, Worth It Therapy Services is here to help.

When you carry the schedule, the logistics, and the emotional needs of others, it can become harder to tell the difference between “busy” and overwhelmed. For parents and caregivers facing down the beginning of another busy school year, that pressure can show up as irritability, exhaustion, anxiety, resentment, or feeling like there is no room left for yourself.

Worth It Therapy Services offers in-person and tele-therapy options for adults. If getting to one more appointment feels difficult, tele-therapy may make support easier to keep on your busy calendar.

Back-to-School Stress Isn't Just for Kids

When people think about back-to-school stress, they usually picture students. But August brings change for almost everyone.

Parents juggle new routines. College students navigate greater independence. Teachers prepare for another demanding year. Work schedules become busier, and everyday life often feels like it speeds up overnight.

In our newest article, we explore why seasonal transitions can feel overwhelming, when it's time to seek help, and how therapy—including both in-person and teletherapy—can fit into a busy season.

You may know therapy could help, but still find yourself thinking:
“I don't have time to drive across town.”
“I can't take that much time off work.”
“I'd have to get childcare.”
“I'd feel anxious walking into an office.”
“I keep meaning to call, the logistics are too much.”
Tele-therapy can make starting therapy feel more possible. You still meet with a real therapist. You still have a scheduled, private session. You still get thoughtful, individualized care.
The difference is that therapy can begin from a place that already feels familiar.
At Worth It Therapy Services, we offer tele-therapy for adults who want support but need therapy to fit more realistically into their lives. Contact us to ask about current tele-therapy openings. See less
