Metamorphosis Holistics Board-certified Holistic Nurse Practitioner & Wellness Coach sharing herbal medicine, aromatherapy & energy healing for mind, body & spirit.

Use code HOLISTIC25 and save $ when you shop my favorites at ORDERLYMEDS.COM I have worked in the healthcare field for many years, and worked as a holistic practitioner for 18 years. Having experienced a child with eczema was the start to my herbal adventure. My son had a moderate case of eczema. He would itch and scratch so much, his little legs and arms has scratches and scarring from the his fingernails. No mother wants to see their child suffer. No mother who is a health care providers wants to try strong medications or chemicals on their infant child's body either. My only resort was to explore what the most natural and gentle substances were, that could bring relief to my child. This led to taking aromatherapy and herbal classes. Those classes led to more classes that taught me how to put the herbs together to make the things that my son needed the most. I began making various medicinal products special order for my private holistic practice, for my family and friends, and then began taking special request from my patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and in hospice care. Realizing that natural medicine can help with so many conditions, without the side effects really empowered me to see how I could integrate my passion with the passion I have for being a nurse practitioner in the various healthcare settings I serve. My company creates plant medicine that embraces every aspect of life, with the least amount of side effects, and large quantities of love and intention.

Just because something feels familiar doesn't mean it's good for you. 🍂

I've been thinking about the changing seasons lately.

We watch the trees let go of their leaves every year, and nobody questions it.

But when it comes to people, jobs, relationships, or habits that no longer serve us, letting go suddenly feels so much harder.

And here's something I've learned, both personally and through my work as a therapist:

Sometimes we aren't holding on because something makes us happy. We're holding on because it's what we know.

Even when it hurts.

But saying goodbye doesn't always mean slamming a door. Sometimes it's a boundary, a little more distance, or simply accepting that a chapter has ended.

And yes, you can grieve something even when you know it's time to let it go. 💜

In my newest Wisdom & Wellness blog, “Saying Goodbye to Seasons,” I'm sharing why letting go can feel so difficult and how we can begin making room for something healthier.

And I'd love to know: What's one thing this season is teaching you to let go of?

What if healing doesn’t always look like medicine? 🌿

As nurses, we're trained to assess, treat, intervene, and keep moving.

But what about the parts of healing we can't always measure?

In this conversation with my dear friend Lizzie Kotyanker, we explore what happens when clinical nursing meets Healing Touch, Reiki, craniosacral therapy, Montessori wisdom, and a deeper trust in the body's own intelligence.

We talk about burnout, nervous-system regulation, presence, rest—and finding our way back to ourselves when we've spent so much time caring for everyone else.

If you've ever wondered whether there could be more ways to support healing, I think you'll enjoy this conversation. 💜

Nurses become incredibly good at being the person everyone else depends on.

But being strong doesn't mean doing everything alone.

I'm learning that community isn't evidence that we can't handle something.

Sometimes community is how we handle it.

The person who listens.

The friend who doesn't need the whole explanation.

The colleague who looks at you and says:

“I get it.”

Those relationships matter.

Who's been that person for you?

I got 99 problems… but self-care ain't gonna be one of them! 😂💜

Imagine being on vacation and STILL telling yourself, “Just one more thing, then I'll relax.”

Yep. That was me.

Until I noticed the tension in my jaw and neck and realized something…

I wasn't actually vacationing. I was just working somewhere prettier. 😅

Then my internet connection decided to take a vacation before I did. Maybe God was trying to tell me something!

Here's what that moment reminded me:

Self-care shouldn't be the 99th thing on our to-do list. And it shouldn't be another problem we're trying to solve.

It's part of the solution.

And nurses, we especially need to remember that. We can advocate for better systems AND stop putting ourselves last.

I share more about this wake-up call in my newest The Nurse's Keeper blog:

“I Got 99 Problems, But Self-Care Ain't One!”

Have you ever gone on vacation but couldn't stop working? Or are you actually good at unplugging? 👀

Today's wellness practice: baking cookies. 🍪😂

No supplements.

No meditation playlist.

No complicated routine.

Just making something, slowing down, and enjoying it.

I'm realizing more and more that wellness isn't only found in the things we've labeled “healthy.”

Sometimes it's laughter.

Sometimes it's music.

Sometimes it's family.

Sometimes it's making cookies simply because you want cookies.

What if we stopped focusing on everything that's wrong with the world… and started becoming more of what we wish to see? 💜

Lately, I've caught myself noticing everything the world seems to be missing. More kindness. More understanding. More love.

And then I think about my grandchildren and the kind of world I want them to grow up in.

I can't change everything happening around us. But I can choose how I show up for the person in front of me.

Sometimes love looks like a simple text, a listening ear, or a quiet act of kindness that nobody else sees.

Maybe changing the world doesn't always begin with something big. Maybe it begins with us.

I share more of these reflections in my newest Wisdom & Wellness blog, “What the World Needs Now.”

Some stories are never told. Not because they didn't happen, but because someone was afraid they wouldn't be believed.

Content Note: This post discusses sexual abuse and trauma.

I've spent my life seeing sexual trauma from different perspectives.

As a child who wasn't protected.
As a SANE nurse holding survivors' hands.
As a proud Cornell mom.
And now, as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner helping others navigate their healing.

Each experience has taught me something I wish more people understood:

Sexual assault has no profile. And how we respond when someone shares their story matters more than we realize.

Sometimes, the first step toward healing isn't having all the answers. It's finding someone willing to listen without judgment.

This is one of the most personal pieces I've written, and it wasn't easy to share. But if it helps even one nurse become a safer person for someone who is hurting, it's worth telling. 💜

In my newest My Nurse's Keeper blog, "SANE Nurse. Cornell Mom. FNP/PMHNP," I share my experiences, what they taught me, and how we can better support survivors.

This is what community looks like to me. 💜

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time doing community service alongside my cousin, who is also a nurse practitioner.

And something about serving together brought me back to the simplest part of healthcare:

People caring for people.

Before the credentials.

Before the charting.

Before the schedules and systems and everything else healthcare has become...

there was a desire to help.

I'm grateful for moments that bring me back to that.

Healthcare friends—what originally made you choose this work?

I'd love to hear your story.

For years, so much of my identity has been attached to what I do.

Nurse.
Practitioner.
Provider.
Teacher.
Caregiver.

And I'm proud of those things.

But they aren't all of me.

And your profession isn't all of you either.

So instead of asking what you do for work today, I want to ask:

Who are you when the badge comes off?

Tell me something about yourself that has absolutely nothing to do with your career. 💜

Children have a funny way of reminding us what being present actually looks like. 💜

They're not thinking about tomorrow's schedule while they're playing.

They're not answering an email while they're laughing.

They're just...there.

My granddaughter reminds me that presence doesn't always require meditation, a quiet room, or another wellness practice.

Sometimes it simply means putting everything else down long enough to notice who's right in front of us.

What's something a child in your life has taught you?
