Building safer communities starts with education! 🧠 📚 Our Program Coordinator, Will Nothnagel, and ThinkFirst speaker, Kelly Narowski, represented our injury prevention programs during a presentation to a group of law enforcement liaisons who work directly in schools or alongside school-based officers and safety personnel. 👮‍♂️🏫

Will shared the history and mission of ThinkFirst of Greater Kansas City and our Young Traffic Offenders Program (YTOP). Kelly also shared her personal story and experiences educating young people about injury prevention and making safer choices.

Thank you to this group for the opportunity to share how we are making a difference in the lives of children and teens throughout our community. Together, we are working hard to help young people make informed decisions and build a safer future. 🌟

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month! Safe streets start with the choices we make every day. 🚦Through The Research Foundation's ThinkFirst of Greater Kansas City injury prevention program, we help children and teens learn how to stay safe on the road, whether they're walking, biking or driving. 🚶‍♀️🚲🚗

Help keep our community safe with these pedestrian safety tips:
✅ Stay alert and put away distractions.
✅ Use crosswalks and intersections when crossing the street.
✅ Make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
✅ Wear bright or reflective clothing, especially at night.

Paige is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communication.
