🎀 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🎀
💗 Early Detection Saves Lives — And Breast Cancer Doesn’t Just Affect Women!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this week on Medical Matters with Nikki the Nurse, we’re discussing the importance of awareness, early detection, and knowing your risks.
💗 Did you know?
🎀 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.
🎀 Men can develop breast cancer, too! Although rare, male breast cancer is often overlooked because many men don’t realize they’re at risk.
🎀 Breast cancer doesn’t always cause pain. A painless lump can still be a warning sign.
🎀 You don’t need a family history to develop breast cancer.
🎀 Mammograms can detect breast cancer before symptoms appear.
💙 Gentlemen, this message is for you, too!
If you notice a lump near your ni**le, ni**le discharge, skin changes, or an unusual change in your chest, don’t ignore it. Get it checked!
✨ Awareness is more than wearing pink. It’s taking action.
✔️ Know your body.
✔️ Understand your family history.
✔️ Stay up to date with recommended screenings.
✔️ Don’t ignore changes.
✔️ Encourage someone you love to get screened.
