Here’s the thing about putting your health on hold: it doesn’t stay on hold.

The time gets spent either way. It can be an hour now understanding what’s happening inside your body, or far more later managing something that could have been caught early.

Which one would you rather schedule?

Lowering your risk of dementia starts long before memory changes. Dr. Mixon shares three things that support your brain health and the rest of your body too:

✅ Keep your blood pressure under 130 over 80
✅ Stay lean, or get lean if you’ve gained weight
✅ Build your muscle and use it often

What’s good for your brain is good for your heart, kidneys, and every other tissue.

Being told your labs are "normal" doesn't mean you feel normal.

Normal for your age isn't the same as optimal. If you're tired, foggy, and gaining weight with no clear reason, your hormones deserve a closer look.

Same age. Same bone. Completely different future.

After 30, we start losing muscle every year unless we give our bodies a reason to keep it. By 70, that slow loss shows up in real life: getting up from a chair, carrying groceries, catching yourself before a fall.

Muscle does more than move you. It helps regulate blood sugar, supports your metabolism, protects your joints, and keeps you independent as you age. That’s why we call it the organ of longevity.

The good news is that muscle responds at any age. Strength training two to three times a week is one of the most powerful things you can do for how you’ll feel at 70, 80, and beyond.

Alcohol is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen, the same category as to***co. There is no amount considered safe.

On its own, that’s a lot to take in. Combined with excess body fat, it becomes even more concerning. Excess body fat is linked to increased risk across 13 different cancers. It drives chronic inflammation and weakens your immune system’s ability to find and destroy cancer cells before they spread.

Alcohol adds another layer. Once it’s broken down by gut bacteria, it converts into acetaldehyde, a compound directly tied to colon and re**al cancer.

Two everyday factors, working together to raise cancer risk in ways most people aren’t aware of.

Cancer prevention starts with understanding what’s actually driving risk, not just diet and exercise in general, but the specific mechanisms behind it.

There’s a number worth sitting with. Most people focus their entire health strategy on living longer. Almost no one asks how many of those extra years they’ll actually feel good in.

That’s the real question behind longevity medicine. Not just extending the timeline, but keeping you strong, sharp, and mobile for more of it.

The earlier you understand what’s happening inside your body, the more control you have over that outcome.
