Currently there are two brands of business under the Totality Living Well Umbrella. The first brand is Scott Williams Fitness (SWF), represented by the blue swirl in the wheel of life. SWF includes services in personal training, in-store grocery shopping trips, dietary plans specifically targeted for desired outcomes, massag

e therapy and hormonal guidance. The green swirl in the wheel of life represents financial wellness. Environmental health rounds out the wheel of life, which is represented by the brown swirl. These two divisions consist of an abundant amount of valuable tools, resources and educational tips in blogs to equip individuals with knowledge and empowerment. These blogs teach sound principles regarding budget planning and how to make your home a healthy sanctuary for clean living. TLW was founded on a passion to help others live the life that God intended. The second brand of business under TLW is Eats Best which is represented by the red swirl in the wheel of life. It centers around healthy eating choices for children and families. With Eats Best as a resource, families can enjoy eating together while building a healthier relationship with food. Anybody ever spend time overthinking when it comes to personal health care efforts and then do nothing because there’s so much out there to DO correctly? Please don’t and just do..even if all you do is simply sleep an extra hour or two, do a few day stretches beneficial to YOUR body that has your coworkers asking what that new dance move is 🤔😆 or chugging down an extra bottle of water…..your body loves your efforts and not your paused overthinking. Yes, the effort alone HELPS your body more than you know and your body thanks you. Do something simple and then do it again…and again.

Remember when you were a kid and you woke up feeling good on any given day and it just felt normal and right?

We do and we also realize that life can shift before we can even realize what has happened leaving us feeling tweaked, sore, stiff, groggy and unfocused. Feeling good like your kid self can be reclaimed with a little strategic effort with the right coaching and is worth pursuing…if that’s important to you.

Did you know that basil is one of the oldest herbs known to mankind? In addition to enhancing culinary dishes with robust pops of flavor, the fragrant oil within basil can greatly assist with helping to lessen bloating issues and prevent gas.

We grow an abundant amount of basil varieties year-round both outdoors and indoors.

You’ll want to ingest fresh bright green basil over dried to maximize these benefits. Simply chew on a few fresh basil leaves or take 4-5 leaves and steep them in a cup of simmering water to make a tea-like infusion to sip on. We love to infuse fresh oils with basil and other fresh herbal blend combinations to cook with in our dishes.

This versatile herb can easily be found at the farmer’s market, grocery stores or maybe even at your next-door neighbor’s herb garden growing in excess so why not find a bit and give it a try? Your tummy will thank you.

A blast from our TV recipe past but still oh so good. The Totality Black Bean Fiesta Bowl. Loaded with flavor and a big punch of protein.
1 package black bean rotini pasta
2 T olive oil
1 red onion chopped
½ jalapeno seeded and finely diced (optional)
10 cherry tomatoes cut in halves
3 garlic cloves peeled and minced
¼ c water
1 T chili powder
1 t cumin
Himalayan pink salt to taste
Black ground pepper to taste
1 cup fresh or frozen corn
1 large orange pepper, diced
¾ c fresh cilantro, finely chopped
1 c shredded Mexican cheese (optional)
4 lime wedges
1 avocado sliced

Cook pasta according to package directions, rinse and set aside in a large stock pot. In a large pan combine oil, onion and jalapeno over medium high heat and sauté until onions are tender. Add tomatoes and garlic and sauté for approximately 3 minutes. Add water, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper and stir to blend. Then add corn and pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add cilantro to cook for approximately 1 minute. Using a large ladle, spoon half of the mixture into the pot of pasta and toss until evenly coated.

On individual plates, portion out pasta and evenly top each dish with remaining sauce. Top with cheese if desired. Garnish with fresh cilantro sprigs, lime wedges and avocado slices.

One of the biggest myths out there is that the health ideal is all about the weight we see represented on the scale. Another big misconception is that “muscle weighs more than fat”. Think about it. A pound is a pound regardless of the matter that makes it up. Muscle can take up less space than fat and the more quality muscle you have, the faster the metabolism to burn unwanted fat. There’s so much more to the body composition equation to factor in, but to put it into simple perspective, the more appropriate focus should really be on overall body composition and not solely the number on the scale.

Simple mindset exercises include deciding to do something with readiness, visualization of the end goal, believing that you will do it regardless of challenges and actually NOT overthinking. Overthinking is an unhealthy auto loop that can trip us up and launch us into unhealthy excuse making or procrastination.
